Essential Job Functions (EJFs): Leadership - The Project Manager serves as a leader and decision-maker for APS executive leadership in the development of the APS program. Project Management - The Project Manager performs a variety of complex assignments, daily operations, and special projects as directed by APS leadership. Representation- The Project Manager represents APS in DFPS workgroup and external workgroups, as assigned. Professional Development - The Project Manager is accountable for the successful completion of all required agency trainings outlined in policy and maintaining current knowledge and professional development in support of the DFPS mission. Other Duties – The Project Manager performs other duties as assigned in support of APS State Office. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs): Knowledge of: Project management theories and practices applicable to projects that are complex in scope; systems and procedures used to evaluate a third-party vendor’s performance; and local, state, and federal laws and regulations relevant to the administration of the project undertaken Skill in: Project management monitoring and in the use of a computer and applicable software. Ability to address changes in scope or timing. Ability to: Exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions Ability to analyze complex information and develop plans to address identified issues, to demonstrate negotiation and facilitation skills, to identify project risks, to prepare reports and charts, to communicate effectively, and to assign duties and responsibilities and coordinate the work of project staff.
