This is a fully remote role within the United States. At Turquoise, our mission is to make healthcare pricing simpler, more transparent, and lower cost for everyone. Today, patients routinely undergo procedures with no way of knowing what they will cost upfront, and the financial complexity behind this is one of the largest, most stubborn problems in U.S. healthcare. We are working to fix it. As a Senior Manager of the AI Team, you will be responsible for the overall direction, quality, and impact of a high-performing engineering team building AI applications and integrations that are a cornerstone of the platform. You will work closely with Product, Design, and Engineering to help shape how AI is used across the company. This is a hands-on leadership role, roughly 60% people leadership and 40% technical contribution. Responsibilities • Manage and coach a team of talented engineers, providing regular feedback and career development discussions. • Structure and sequence work, accurately communicating status and quality metrics for all deliverables. • Serve as a counterpart to Product, translating strategy into actionable roadmaps and engineering plans. • Build and sustain a high-performing, inclusive culture on the team. • Contribute directly to the design and implementation of production systems. • Own architectural decisions involving API design, integrations, and infrastructure. • Lead the team’s operational readiness, including observability, evaluation of AI systems, and overall testing. • Keep our AI applications efficient and cost-effective as we scale. Here’s what you bring to the role • 6+ years of production experience in Python, 2+ years of managing a team. • Hands-on experience with modern AI/ML tools and frameworks. • Demonstrated experience shipping a complex system with significant customer impact. • Ability to work effectively across functions and levels. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
