The last company we started, Second Measure, scaled to 70+ people and tens of millions in revenue, and was ultimately acquired by Bloomberg in a landmark deal. đ The Opportunity Weâre looking for a Technical Lead with real zero-to-one experienceâideally a former founder or early-stage startup engineerâto help architect and scale our product. In this role, youâll mentor a team, while working directly with our technical founders to ship core features, define engineering practices, and deliver a user experience that delights our customers. đ What Youâll Do Here Build the foundation of our product. Architect and deliver critical end-to-end features that move us toward MVP and product-market fit. Technical Leadership. Mentor a small team of engineers, helping them execute and make tradeoffs. Translate complex concepts into clean software. Work closely with founders, product, and design to turn nuanced business logic into intuitive, reliable systems. Ship with urgency and intention. Prioritize high-impact work, iterate quickly, and deliver customer value with velocity. Establish engineering best practices. Help define a culture of pragmatic craftsmanship, operational excellence, and collaborative decision-making. Support and scale production systems. Ensure reliability, performance, and quality for the core systems that power our customersâ workflows. đ What Weâre Looking For 3+ years of technical leadership experience. Youâve built and led high-performing teams (while also enjoying being a hands-on contributor). Experience as a founder or early startup builder. Youâve operated in high-ambiguity environments and understand the realities of zero-to-one product development. Strong full-stack expertise. Youâre proficient in React, youâve built APIs (REST or GraphQL) and backends using Node.js or Flask. Hands-on integration experience. Youâve worked with public SaaS APIs like Stripe, Twilio, Segment, Docusign, or Salesforce. Operational maturity. You have experience owning production systems, including on-call responsibilities, debugging, and reliability work. â Bonus Points For AI. Building AI-augmented or agentic products, as well as using modern AI coding tools. RevOps. Familiarity with billing, finance, sales, or CS products and personas. đ« Why Turnstile?
