About the Role Join the backend engineering team responsible for a core product in a marketing technology platform. You will shape reliable, scalable systems that help customers activate warehouse data, build audiences, and measure performance. What You'll Do Own backend systems, with a focus on scalability, reliability, and maintainability. Improve data warehouse performance through query optimization and precomputed state. Build analytics and experimentation features for audience creation and performance measurement. Develop real-time audience syncing capabilities using change data capture and streaming approaches. Partner with product and design to turn customer needs and product specifications into robust backend solutions. Guide architectural decisions that balance performance, simplicity, and long-term maintainability. What We're Looking For 6 to 15 years of backend engineering experience, including substantial work designing and building systems at high-growth startups. Staff-level experience, with a record of growing responsibilities or promotions during longer tenures. Strong systems design fundamentals and experience with large-scale data processing systems. Experience building user-focused backend products, engaging with customers, and incorporating their feedback. Background in data activation, analytics, or data tooling within SaaS, and familiarity with modern backend technologies. A degree in computer science, mathematics, or electrical engineering, or equivalent technical experience. Strong communication skills, a history of learning quickly, and primarily backend rather than full-stack, data engineering, or DevOps experience. Compensation & Benefits Base salary range: $180,000 to $320,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available. Location Remote within the United States.
