Trinity Industries is searching for a Sr. Manager, Fleet Operations to join our team in Dallas, TX! This role will be responsible for leading a segment of our Fleet Operations team in a fast paced and dynamic environment. The operations for this role takes place in the world of Railroad car repair processing, billing, auditing, customer service, regulatory compliance, continuous improvement, and profit and loss management. What you’ll do: • Lead, train, and develop 5 to 8 Fleet Operations Managers • Fleet Operations Managers duties include but are not limited to: railcar repair estimate and invoice auditing, regulatory compliance, supporting railcar repair shops, maintaining customer accounts and reporting to customer on health of those accounts • Ownership of Key Performance Indicators to include, but not limited to, Cost Per Car, Turn Time, On Time Delivery, Customer Satisfaction, Employee Engagement, and Expense • Maintain and report on quarterly and annual Operating Plan metrics • Oversee and co-ordinate with data analysts to make monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial forecasts of maintenance spend • Influence cross functional groups to achieve positive results for both Trinity and its customer partners What you'll need: • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Economics, Operations Management, or related field • 5+ years’ experience managing and coordinating business operations • 3+ years’ experience leading teams preferred • Must have prior railcar repair/maintenance experience • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products with primary focus on Excel • Ability to read and interpret large data sets to help drive strategic decisions making • Ability to interpret and evaluate engineering drawings and regulatory codes given modest training • Excellent collaboration and relationship-building skills – ability to communicate effectively across all levels
