Job Description / Justification: The NYC Office of Technology and Innovation has been tasked with recruiting an Analyst 3, Website Analytics Manager.To ensure that NYC services are meeting the needs of New Yorkers, the NYC Digital Service is requesting a Site AnalyticsSpecialist to design, implement and analyze site data for publicfacing digital properties for the Office of Technology andInnovation. Projects may include work on City Jobs (part of Talent Portal), Department of Finance Redesign (Payments), MyCity and application and data integrations across various NYC digital properties. SCOPE OF SERVICES: The Website Analytics Manager will work with the NYC Digital Service team to understand analytics requirements, define tags to capture data correctly, oversee site analytics implementation and analyze resulting data for across more than 500 NYC digital properties. The Website Analytics Manager will be involved in agency stakeholder meetings, and present deliverables in team meetings. TASKS:1. Define best practice approaches for analyzing online user behavior, configuring web analyticstechnology, and for interpreting data2. Determine objectives, methods and tools needed for iterative testing and optimization3. Write analytics technical and functional requirements for public-facing digital properties4. Create customized JavaScript or JSON code as needed for site analytics5. Lead regular tagging audits, providing best practices, and troubleshooting to ensure accuracy6. Provide site analytics technical expertise, estimates, and recommendations to the developmentlead and/or project manager7. Communicate risks and issues in a clear and timely manner8. Run regularly scheduled web analytics reports that contribute meaningful analysis andactionable insights to improve user experience9. Conduct ad-hoc analysis and reporting for internal clients as requested10. Create documentation such as data dictionaries and analytics requirementsMANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Note: Candidates who do not have the mandatory skills willnot be considered.1. 8 years reporting, and technical background Experience with Google Analytics (GA360, GA4),and Web tag managers (GTM, Tealium)2. 4-5+ years experience managing enterprise-class web analytics platforms (e.g., GoogleAnalytics 360, GA4, Web Trends); expertise with web analytics platform migrations highlyvaluable3. Proficiency developing custom reports, advanced segments, and complex goals, and theinterpretation and presentation of findings4. Intermediate Excel skills and an ability to integrate disparate data sets into clear, concisereports and insights6.
