You’ll be the technical detective behind maintaining and troubleshooting WordPress websites across diverse industries. While others design beautiful sites, you’ll be the one ensuring they actually work, solving contact form failures, diagnosing why payments aren’t processing, figuring out why pages won’t load, and unraveling the mysteries of plugin conflicts. Working independently but with full team support, you’ll tackle everything from routine maintenance to complex technical puzzles that would stump most people. Essential Functions/Responsibilities (including, But Not Limited To) WordPress Maintenance & Troubleshooting: • Perform routine website maintenance including plugin updates, theme updates, and WordPress core updates. • Diagnose and resolve website functionality issues including broken contact forms, payment processing problems, and login difficulties. • Troubleshoot plugin conflicts and compatibility issues across various WordPress environments. • Investigate and fix display problems, mobile compatibility issues, and page loading errors. • Test website functionality after updates and provide detailed recap reports. Technical Problem Solving • Access and navigate website files through cPanel when needed for diagnostics. • Analyze and resolve issues with key plugins including Elementor, LearnDash, WooCommerce, MemberPress, and Gravity Forms. • Implement CSS tweaks and minor code adjustments to resolve display and functionality problems. • Identify when issues require server-level intervention and coordinate with technical specialists. • Troubleshoot membership site functionality and online learning platform configurations. Client & Project Support • Work independently through ticket management system while maintaining communication with project team. • Provide clear documentation of problems identified and solutions implemented. • Collaborate with designers and developers when complex issues require additional expertise. • Communicate technical issues in client-friendly language when necessary. Preferred Qualifications & Skills • 2-3 years of WordPress troubleshooting and maintenance experience. • Strong understanding of WordPress core functionality, plugin ecosystem, and common conflicts. • Experience with key plugins: Elementor, LearnDash, WooCommerce, MemberPress, Gravity Forms. • Proficiency in basic HTML, CSS, and understanding of PHP for troubleshooting purposes. • Familiarity with cPanel file management and basic server/database concepts. Ability To • Think analytically and methodically when diagnosing complex technical issues. • Work independently while knowing when to seek assistance from team specialists. • Manage multiple support tickets efficiently while maintaining quality standards. • Adapt quickly to new plugins, themes, and WordPress environments. • Distinguish between WordPress issues and server/hosting-related problems. What We Offer The Right Candidate This is a contract position offering $40-50/hour depending on experience, with 15-30 hours per week based on your skillset and our project needs. You’ll enjoy the flexibility of working from home while being part of a supportive, professional team that values your technical expertise. Our standard business hours are Monday-Friday, 9 AM-5:30 PM MST for team communication and coordination, but you can complete your troubleshooting work anytime as long as deadlines are met. You’ll have access to our collaborative tools including Slack, Google Workspace, and project management systems, plus the full support of our development and server management team when needed.
