Full-Stack Engineer, Investment Platform Company: Scale Venture Partners Location: Hybrid in Foster City or San Francisco, CA (1-3 days per week, Fridays in office); fully remote considered for ideal profiles Compensation: $200,000 - $250,000 + potential bonus Employment Type: Full-time Visa Sponsorship: Visa transfers (OPT, H-1B transfer) About Scale Venture Partners Scale Venture Partners is a Bay Area venture capital firm focused on the next generation of enterprise software companies building AI-enabled applications. It manages about $2.9B across eight funds and was an early investor in SaaS pioneers such as Bill.com, DocuSign, HubSpot, Box and JFrog, helping founders move from founder-led growth to a go-to-market machine. Founded in 2000, the firm gets early access to virtually every notable new AI tool and agent on the market. The Role Scale Venture Partners is hiring a Full-Stack Engineer (5+ years) to own and evolve the internal platform that powers portfolio monitoring, fund operations and LP reporting. This is a high-autonomy individual contributor role working directly with investors and the finance team, shipping features end to end with no product manager in between. Everything you ship is used immediately by real users. What You Will Do • Own and extend the in-house platform for portfolio monitoring, valuations, financials tracking and quarterly LP reporting across 70+ portfolio companies. • Build AI-driven ingestion that replaces manual entry of board decks, financials and portfolio reporting. • Develop automated error resolution to detect and fix discrepancies when financial numbers do not tie out. • Build agentic internal tools (LLM agents, custom MCPs) that let investors query portfolio and pipeline data in plain language. • Work with investors, finance and IR as end users, turning feedback into shipped product each quarter. What You Bring • 5-8 years as a full-stack engineer shipping production web applications • Built software for private markets: cap tables, preferences and liquidation, ownership and dilution, capital calls, valuations, portfolio monitoring or LP reporting (at a fund or companies like Carta, PitchBook or similar) • Genuine full-stack skill in Python, React and TypeScript, with strong SQL and data modeling in PostgreSQL • Experience working directly with investor stakeholders and turning observations into scope • Demonstrated tenure: stayed long enough to see the long-term outcomes of engineering decisions • A hands-on IC who codes and ships Nice to Have • Experience on a fund platform or technology team • AWS production ownership (ECS, CI, monitoring) • LLMs in production (retrieval, evaluation, agent tooling) Interview Process Initial screen with the Head of Data Science (30 min), technical discussion (1 hour), take-home project, investor conversations (45 min).
