Summary: The Funding Manager serves as a strategic advisor to partners and internal teams, helping organizations navigate complex funding landscapes to adopt and sustain Transfr’s solutions. This role plays a central part in enabling revenue and regional performance by shaping funding pathways, identifying the strongest opportunities, and aligning program models with state, federal, and philanthropic priorities. As a connective force across Sales, Customer Success, Product, and Learning Experience, the Funding Manager translates partner goals and funding requirements into clear, actionable strategies. The ideal candidate is a critical thinker who enjoys distilling complexity, guiding partners through decision-making, and designing funding-aligned pathways that unlock long-term, sustainable impact. Responsibilities: • Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to partners, helping them navigate funding landscapes, understand their options, and design programs that align with both grant requirements and organizational goals. • Analyze state, federal, and local grants, as well as state workforce priorities, to identify opportunities for strong alignment between Transfr and partners and to guide partners on how to compete for funding successfully. • Develop clear, persuasive narratives and program recommendations that connect partner outcomes, local labor market needs, and Transfr’s solutions. • Support partners through all stages of the funding process, from identifying opportunities to interpreting requirements, defining measurable goals, developing sustainability strategies, and preparing competitive submissions. • Act as a cross-functional connector, ensuring Sales and Customer Success are aligned on the funding strategy for each state and partner. • Build and maintain regional funding strategies, trackers, and intelligence that guide internal forecasting, planning, and partner engagement. • Monitor emerging policies, workforce initiatives, and ecosystem shifts to anticipate new opportunities and proactively advise internal teams. • Support Customer Success and partners post-award to ensure programs meet required metrics and position organizations for long-term sustainability and future funding. • Holds accountability for regional performance by partnering closely with Sales to support pipeline progression and closed-won business. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. • 5+ years of experience in a strategic, funding-focused, workforce development, or educational environment (e.g., higher education, K-12, or government relations positions) and brings a deep understanding of the nonprofit sector. • Demonstrated ability to interpret complex funding structures, policy language, and program requirements. • Exceptional writing and communication skills with the ability to translate complexity into clarity. • Strong analytical skills and a systems-thinking mindset. • Highly organized with excellent project management abilities and comfort juggling multiple priorities. • Relationship-driven, collaborative, and comfortable serving as a strategic thought partner to both internal teams and external organizations. • Brings a high degree of adaptability and embraces the change that may come with scaling a high-growth company. What we offer The base salary range for this position is expected to be between $80,000 and $85,000 with variable compensation based on performance. The actual base salary is dependent on factors such as a candidate’s credentials, relevant experience, and primary job location. In addition to salary, this role is eligible for additional company benefits such as stock options, 401(k), paid vacation and sick time, and medical/dental/vision insurance.
