We are a fast-growing fintech company seeking a Market Analyst Intern to join our team remotely. This internship program is structured to provide a comprehensive learning experience: Round 1 (Spring – March to June): An internship during the spring months where you will be fully immersed in projects and team collaboration. You will actively contribute to market research, competitive intelligence, and strategic insights that support business decision-making. Round 2 (Summer – Extension): For interns who excel in the spring and are invited to continue. This extension allows you to deepen your impact on ongoing initiatives and potentially transition into future full-time opportunities. In this role, you will focus on tracking market trends and competitor movements within the fintech landscape. You’ll analyze industry developments, monitor strategic shifts, and turn insights into structured weekly “What’s Happening” briefs for our audience. You will work in a remote and collaborative environment, supporting leadership, product, and growth teams with actionable market intelligence and helping strengthen our strategic positioning. Key Responsibilities Market Research & Trend Tracking: Monitor fintech industry developments, macroeconomic shifts, funding activity, regulatory changes, partnerships, and emerging technologies. Identify patterns and themes that may impact our business or audience. Competitive Intelligence: Track competitor product launches, pricing updates, partnerships, messaging, and go-to-market strategies. Compare positioning and identify gaps or opportunities in the market. Weekly “What’s Happening” Briefs: Synthesize research into concise, engaging weekly briefs that highlight key market developments. Translate complex financial or industry news into clear, actionable insights for our audience. Data Analysis & Insight Generation: Support research with quantitative and qualitative analysis. Organize findings into dashboards, summaries, or structured reports that inform strategic decisions. Collaboration & Reporting: Work closely with leadership, product, content, and growth teams in a remote setting. Use collaboration tools (Slack, Zoom, etc.) for daily communication and shared documentation tools for research tracking. Participate in team meetings, share insights, and incorporate feedback. Documentation & Presentation: Document research methodologies and findings clearly. Prepare visual summaries, reports, or slide decks to communicate insights effectively to internal stakeholders. Requirements (Must-Have) Educational Background: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Data Science, or a related field. Strong academic foundation in research and analytical thinking is essential. Research & Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze large amounts of information, identify meaningful trends, and distinguish signal from noise. Comfortable synthesizing findings into structured insights. Market Awareness: Genuine interest in fintech, financial markets, startups, or emerging technologies. Curiosity about industry shifts and competitive dynamics. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to translate complex industry developments into clear, concise summaries suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences. Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple information streams efficiently. Self-Motivation: Ability to work independently in a remote environment. Proactive in identifying relevant trends and disciplined in meeting deadlines. Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have) Finance/Fintech Knowledge: Understanding of financial markets, digital banking, payments, lending, crypto, or related fintech sectors. Data & Visualization Skills: Experience using Excel, Google Sheets, or visualization tools to present insights clearly. Familiarity with dashboards or reporting tools is a plus. Basic Technical Skills: Familiarity with SQL, Python, or analytics tools for basic data analysis is beneficial but not required. Content or Brief Writing Experience: Experience writing newsletters, market summaries, research briefs, or strategic memos. Team Projects: Experience working in collaborative environments such as consulting clubs, startups, or research teams.
