Full Description

The MSx Azure Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions within the Microsoft Azure platform, with a primary focus on Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI). The role ensures the stability, performance, and security of virtual desktop environments while aligning with business requirements, industry best practices, and organizational standards.   Direct Reports: No   Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Design and deploy cloud-based applications and infrastructure using Microsoft Azure. * Manage Azure resources including Virtual Machines, Web Apps, Networking, and Storage. * Monitor and optimize cloud performance, availability, and cost. * Ensure compliance with security standards and implement robust access controls. * Collaborate with security and operations teams to align cloud solutions with business needs. * Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Azure services and infrastructure. * Maintain documentation for all Azure configurations and deployments. * Stay current with new Azure features and cloud technology trends. * Design, implement, and manage Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments including host pools, session hosts, and workspaces. * Configure and optimize FSLogix profile containers using Azure Files or Azure NetApp Files. * Manage Entra ID integration and user access controls. * Implement security hardening and compliance measures for VDI infrastructure. * Automate deployment and scaling of AVD resources using PowerShell, ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform. * Monitor performance and availability using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Diagnostics. * Troubleshoot virtual desktop and application issues across Azure environments. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business applications hosted on AVD. * Maintain documentation and runbooks for operational procedures and configurations. * Participate in patching, updates, and lifecycle management of AVD components. *     Other Responsibilities: * May be required to participate in after-hours escalations and 7x24 on call as needed.   Required Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent experience. * 3+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and VDI/AVD technologies. * Strong understanding of AVD architecture, session host deployment, and image management. * Experience with FSLogix, Azure Files, Azure NetApp Files, and Azure Key Vault. * Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell preferred) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). * Solid knowledge of networking, security, and cloud computing principles. * Familiarity with Azure networking components (VNet, NSG, firewalls) and identity management (e.g., Entra ID).   Other Qualifications: * Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect, or related). * Familiarity with Azure DevOps and CI/CD practices. * Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting tools within Azure. * Knowledge of ITIL processes and ticketing systems such as ServiceNow. * Additional scripting proficiency (e.g., Python).     TPx is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.  Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religious creed, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, breast-feeding and related medical conditions), sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, national origin or ancestry, age, mental or physical disability (including medical condition), military or veteran status, political preference, marital status, citizenship, genetic information or other status protected by law or regulation.   We are committed to providing reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities.
