Overview We are urgently hiring compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to provide essential care and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, seniors, and those requiring long-term care. This role involves supporting residents in their daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting independence within a variety of care settings including group homes, assisted living facilities, and home health environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to person-centered care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Prior experience in healthcare or social services is highly valued. Responsibilities • Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support • Monitor residents’ health status by taking vital signs and observing for any changes in condition • Administer medications according to care plans and HIPAA regulations • Support residents with meal preparation, feeding, and maintaining proper nutrition • Implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident’s needs, including dementia or Alzheimer's care • Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts and assist with transfers safely • Provide patient observation to ensure safety and well-being at all times • Maintain a clean and safe environment through light cleaning duties • Document care activities accurately while respecting residents’ privacy and confidentiality • Respond promptly to emergencies using CPR or first aid skills when necessary • Engage residents in social activities to promote mental health and community involvement • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and team members to deliver comprehensive care Qualifications • Prior experience in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care preferred • Knowledge of patient monitoring, medication administration, and care planning • Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, HIPAA training are highly desirable • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, dementia or Alzheimer’s is advantageous • Ability to lift heavy objects safely (e.g., Hoyer lifts) and assist with mobility needs • Strong interpersonal skills with patience and compassion for vulnerable populations • Ability to work flexible hours including shifts that may involve evenings or weekends if needed • Valid driver’s license and CPR Certification preferred but not required.
