Job Position: Spot Welder Location: Chicago,IL60639 Pay Rate: $20.00/hr Shift: 2nd Shift Description: Position: Spot Weld Set-up / Operator Location: Chicago, IL Pay Rate: $20.00 Must be capable of setting up and operating Banner and Amada spot welding equipment for production and prototype fabrication methods for steel, stainless steel and aluminum materials. Reads blueprints, bills of materials, and written work orders required in the fabrication of welded parts. Performs own job set-ups, as well as assisting others within the department. Performs light maintenance on welding equipment, copper tips and fixtures for the purpose of ensuring the availability and functioning of equipment in the spot welding department. Keeps accurate production paperwork/records including, but not limited to 1st piece inspection, number of parts produced, defective units produced per job, communicate non-conforming items, shortages to QC Inspector or Supervisor. Ability to add and subtract small, medium or large numbers and to multiply and divide. Must be able to use a tape measure or other measuring devices such as calipers and to work with any/all specified tolerances. Must be able to read a decimal chart and simple/complex drawings to verify product identification and requirements.
