About the Role We are seeking a Director of Finance to join the leadership team and establish a robust financial foundation for a growing Web3 organization. This role reports directly to the Chief of Staff and partners closely with the CEO and other senior leaders to drive company-wide operational excellence — with a major focus on finance and treasury. You will design and implement financial systems and controls to support the company’s global growth across fiat and digital asset ecosystems, overseeing all aspects of treasury operations, forecasting, accounting, and compliance. The ideal candidate will blend traditional finance expertise with an understanding of tokenized ecosystems and decentralized operations. What You’ll Own Finance & Treasury (Primary Focus) • Build and maintain budgeting, forecasting, and cash management frameworks that support agile, multi-entity growth. • Oversee treasury operations across fiat and digital asset flows, ensuring appropriate custody, liquidity, and risk management. • Establish financial controls, reporting systems, and accounting practices aligned with both traditional GAAP and crypto-native standards. • Manage relationships with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors, including those experienced in digital asset compliance. • Implement and maintain tools for real-time treasury monitoring, including wallets, exchanges, and financial dashboards. • Provide visibility into token treasury performance and financial runway through clear, data-driven reporting to leadership and investors. Strategic Finance • Partner with the Chief of Staff and CEO on strategic planning, scenario modeling, and financial projections tied to both product and token growth. • Support capital formation, investor reporting, and token-related fundraising (e.g., SAFTs, grants, ecosystem incentives). • Advise on tokenomics, treasury sustainability, and financial implications of decentralized governance mechanisms. Operational Leadership • Collaborate cross-functionally across Legal, Talent, Engineering, and Product teams to ensure alignment between operational strategy and financial planning. • Develop scalable internal systems to support international operations, payroll, and vendor management. • Build a small, high-performing finance team over time as the organization scales. What You’ll Bring • 7–10+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or FP&A, ideally within technology, fintech, or Web3 startups. • Strong foundation in treasury operations, cash flow management, and financial modeling. • Experience managing digital assets, including custody, staking, and on-chain treasury reporting. • Knowledge of crypto accounting practices, regulatory requirements, and digital asset taxation. • Proven ability to implement scalable financial systems in a fast-moving, global, remote-first environment. • Exceptional communication and analytical skills, with the ability to advise senior leadership using data-driven insights. • CPA, CFA, or equivalent professional designation is an asset but not required. Nice to Have • Experience designing or managing tokenomics, on-chain incentive systems, or DAO treasury frameworks. • Exposure to AI or compute infrastructure economics (e.g., data marketplaces, inference networks). • Prior involvement in a token launch, protocol spinout, or decentralized finance (DeFi) initiative. • Passion for the decentralized future of AI and belief in open, permissionless collaboration.
