Job Overview This role leads T-Mobile’s enterprise Release Engineering and Release Management function, responsible for governing, planning, and executing complex, high-risk software and platform releases across the organization. The Sr Manager owns end-to-end release readiness, orchestration, production stability, ensuring predictable, high-quality delivery across multiple products, platforms, and technical domains in an Agile environment. The role manages and develops a large, highly specialized organization of release leaders, planners, and engineers responsible for intake governance, environment readiness, release packaging, deployment planning, and Night of Release execution. Success is measured by production stability, release predictability, risk mitigation, continuous process improvement, and the ability to scale release operations in alignment with enterprise growth. This position has broad impact across Product, Engineering, Quality Engineering, Architecture, Technology Change Management, and Operations, serving as a critical integration point between strategy and execution while safeguarding customer experience and platform resilience. Job Responsibilities: What You’ll Do • Lead and develop an organization of senior professionals responsible for enterprise release governance, readiness, and execution across multiple products and platforms • Own the operating model for release management, including governance standards, escalation paths, decision frameworks, and performance expectations • Serve as the senior escalation point for high-impact or high-risk release events, providing leadership, prioritization, and decision support to internal teams and senior stakeholders • Partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, Quality Engineering, Architecture, and Operations to align release strategy with business priorities and technical readiness • Drive continuous improvement of release processes, tooling, and metrics to improve predictability, quality, and production stability • Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing release leaders, with a focus on coaching judgment, accountability, and operational excellence • Foster a culture of inclusion, transparency, and continuous learning across the release organization How Success Is Measured • Predictability and reliability of enterprise software releases • Production stability and reduction in release-related incidents • Automation and AI improvements for existing manual processes • Confidence and trust from senior and executive stakeholders • Strength, engagement, and maturity of the release leadership team Education and Work Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience • 7+ years of experience in software delivery, release engineering, DevOps, or technical product management within large-scale Agile environments • 4+ years of experience leading managers and/or highly specialized technical teams • Demonstrated experience leading teams responsible for production-impacting systems or enterprise delivery outcomes • Strong executive communication skills and the ability to lead through influence across complex organizations Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Experience leading enterprise or platform-level release operations • Familiarity with release governance, change management, and production risk management practices • Experience working with tools such as Jira, ServiceNow Change Management, release calendars, and test management platforms • Agile or delivery-related certifications (PMI-ACP or similar) • Experience leveraging automation or AI-enabled tools to improve operational efficiency Licenses and Certifications: • Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) (Preferred) • At least 18 years of age • Legally authorized to work in the United States Travel: Travel Required (Yes/No): DOT Regulated: DOT Regulated Position (Yes/No): No Safety Sensitive Position (Yes/No): No Base Pay Range: $148,000 - $266,900 Corporate Bonus Target: 20% The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range. At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year.
