Summary: We are looking for a freight broker to act as a liaison between our customers and our network of freight carriers. In this role, you will work to develop, manage, and grow your own book of business using the tools, resources, and training provided by TTL. The ideal candidate will be effective in attracting new customers, ensuring customer retention, and multitasking in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: • Generate leads, attract new prospects, and develop a robust sales pipeline through cold calling, emailing, networking, and referrals. • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and carriers through proactive, high-level communication, providing efficient solutions to meet their needs. • Identify, select, and negotiate with reputable and safe carriers to secure freight services at competitive rates that optimize profits. • Provide customers with accurate and timely shipping quotes, leveraging knowledge of current market trends. • Manage the full lifecycle of shipments, including booking orders with carriers, preparing carriers for loads, and tracking the status of loads from pickup to delivery. • Collaborate effectively with shippers, carriers, and dispatchers to manage scheduled collections and drop-offs. • Update customers on the status of their shipments and assist with any inquiries to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction. • Maintain accurate records of all activities and process customer information and orders diligently using McLeod Software. • Work towards and exceed established goals for gross profit, new account acquisition, and load count as directed by management. Qualifications and Skills: • High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent. • 2+ years of work experience in a freight brokerage or similar role. • An established book of business is preferred but not required. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with McLeod Software is a plus. • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. • Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities. • Outstanding people skills with a customer-oriented approach. • Demonstrated ability to meet sales targets and manage multiple priorities with a sense of urgency.
