Represent TigerData at local and global events, meetups, hackathons, and conferences. Build and share demos, tutorials, and code samples showcasing TigerData’s AI features.
Candidates should have 5+ years of experience in developer advocacy or related roles and have built with AI/LLMs. They should thrive in community spaces and be comfortable coding and teaching in relevant programming languages.
At TigerData, formerly Timescale, we empower developers and businesses with the fastest PostgreSQL platform designed for transactional, analytical, and agentic workloads. Trusted globally by thousands of organizations, TigerData accelerates real-time insights, drives intelligent applications, and powers critical infrastructure at scale. As a globally distributed, remote-first team committed to direct communication, accountability, and collaborative excellence, we're shaping the future of data infrastructure, built for speed, flexibility, and simplicity. Senior Developer Advocate (AI) You’re a builder at heart who thrives in the community. At 9am, you might be polishing a demo that shows how TigerData powers RAG at scale. By lunchtime, you’re writing a quick blog post about it. That night? You’re at a Bay Area meetup, laptop open, helping developers troubleshoot their AI projects. We’re looking for someone hungry to grow their impact — a hands-on advocate who wants to make TigerData the database developers think of when they think of AI. Reporting to the Head of Developer Advocacy & Docs, you’ll be out in the community building trust, sparking momentum, and inspiring developers in the Bay Area and beyond. 📍 Location requirement: Bay Area — you’ll represent TigerData at local meetups, hackathons, and community events, in addition to global conferences. What you will be responsible for in this role Represent TigerData at Bay Area and global events, meetups, hackathons, and conferences. Build and share demos, tutorials, and code samples showcasing TigerData’s AI features (vector search, RAG, real-time analytics). Publish developer content — blogs, talks, videos, workshops — that inspire builders and grow adoption. Partner with product and engineering to shape the developer experience for AI workloads. Act as a bridge between the developer community and our internal teams, surfacing insights and influencing roadmap. Experiment with new ideas and formats to reach and excite developers — from streams to hackathons to collabs. You could be a great fit if you… Have 5+ years of experience in developer advocacy, developer relations, or engineering roles with strong community exposure. Have built with AI/LLMs — RAG frameworks, vector databases, or AI-powered apps — and love teaching others how. Thrive in community spaces: you light up when you’re teaching, coding live, or helping someone debug at a hackathon. Are comfortable coding and teaching in Python, Go, or JavaScript (and ideally SQL/Postgres). Are a self-starter who hustles — measuring impact in developer adoption and engagement, not just vanity metrics. Have started to build your own voice in the developer ecosystem (talks, blogs, OSS, or meetups) and want to grow it further. Must be able to attend local events with occasional travel You might not be a great fit if… You prefer to stay behind the scenes instead of being a visible external voice. You want a rigid playbook — we’re looking for someone who helps write it. You’re risk-averse or shy away from experimenting in public. You only want to work on polished projects — we move fast, publish in-progress ideas, and learn in public. Our Commitment: We respond to every applicant. We review applications fairly and objectively, and shortlist based on relevant skills and experience. We ensure clear and timely communication throughout your candidate journey. We maintain a rigorous interview process with a high bar, designed to give you the opportunity to meet various team members you'll collaborate with across our organization.
