Title: Construction Operations Manager Scope: Multifamily, Renovations / Revitalizations Location: Apex, North Carolina Job Type: Full-Time, Exempt Rate: 115 - 145K POSITION SUMMARY The Operations Manager is responsible for the strategic oversight and execution of all construction projects within the region, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, financial targets, and client expectations. This role provides direct leadership to Construction Managers, Project Managers, and Superintendents while driving operational excellence through performance metrics, standardized processes, and disciplined financial management. The Operations Manager plays a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with company standards, Core5 KPIs, and client commitments. ESSENTIAL JOB DETAILS: Project Execution & Oversight • Provide leadership and oversight for project initiation, planning, and execution across the region. • Ensure all projects maintain accurate, real-time schedules and resource plans. • Conduct periodic jobsite visits to validate schedule performance and execution quality. • Ensure adherence to Core5 standards across all managed projects. • Oversee daily logs, change orders, and customer reporting for accuracy and timeliness. • Track critical path items and project documentation within Procore and related systems. • Ensure scope changes and project variances are documented and communicated effectively. Financial Management • Lead the budget-to-buyout process to align financial performance with company objectives. • Oversee material procurement and ensure strategic use of National Supplier Partners. • Manage trade partner financial allocations in accordance with company SOPs. • Monitor project performance using dashboards and forecasting tools to ensure profitability. • Collaborate with leadership to establish revenue goals and support branch financial performance. Client Communication & Reporting • Ensure weekly client reports are generated and delivered on schedule. • Maintain proactive and transparent communication regarding schedules, budgets, and performance metrics. • Confirm scope changes and financial variances are clearly documented and communicated. • Build and maintain strong client relationships to support long-term growth. Process Improvement & Compliance • Lead recurring operations meetings with structured agendas and clear action accountability. • Conduct operational reviews to identify process improvements and implement standardized SOPs. • Support adoption and effective utilization of Procore, Acumatica, and related systems. • Maintain and expand trade partner and supplier relationships to strengthen project delivery. Team Leadership & Development • Lead, coach, and develop Superintendents, Project Managers, and Construction Managers. • Conduct performance management and support professional growth initiatives. • Partner with HR, Safety, and Training to ensure compliance and alignment with company values. • Maintain awareness of team capacity, workload distribution, and performance metrics. • Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement. This role may also perform Superintendent or Project Manager duties on a per-project basis as needed. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management or operations leadership. • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously. • Proven leadership experience overseeing Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams. • Strong financial acumen with experience in budget oversight, forecasting, and profitability management. • Experience tracking and improving performance metrics and KPIs. • Proficiency in Procore and Microsoft Office Suite (experience with Acumatica preferred). • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills. • Valid Driver’s License required. • OSHA 10 certification required.
