Lead and deliver virtual therapy services, conduct assessments, collaborate with clinical teams, and help build Thrive’s clinical presence in California.
Must be a licensed therapist in California with clinical experience in outpatient and preferably IOP/PHP care, strong communication skills, and comfort with telehealth platforms.
Therapist / Behavioral Health Clinician (California - Remote) Be the voice of a new kind of care. Help us build Thrive in California from the ground up. Why Work at This Company? Helping people heal while building a life you love — Thrive is where therapists grow, feel supported, and do meaningful work. About Thrive Thrive is on a mission to redefine modern mental health care — blending high-touch, human-centered therapy with the operational precision of world-class clinical systems. We serve individuals across levels of care (outpatient, IOP, PHP), with virtual-first programs rooted in evidence-based practices and a whole-person approach. We’re already established in several states. Now, we’re bringing that vision to California — and we’re looking for someone bold, inspired, and clinically sharp to help us shape it. About the Role We’re hiring a founding Therapist / Behavioral Health Clinician to lead Thrive’s clinical presence in California. This is not just a therapy role — it’s a build-with-us opportunity. You’ll guide clients through transformative care, lead individual and group sessions, and collaborate with our broader clinical team. But you’ll also help shape how Thrive shows up in California — helping us localize our model, co-create partnerships, and establish a reputation for excellence across the state. What You’ll Do • Deliver individual, group, and family therapy across virtual outpatient and IOP levels of care • Lead group sessions that foster insight, regulation, and connection using modalities like DBT, ACT, and more • Conduct clinical intakes, assessments, and treatment planning that center the client and meet compliance needs • Serve as a clinical thought partner for Thrive’s expansion into California — helping shape care delivery, partnerships, and local systems • Build relationships with California-based referral partners, providers, and community leaders • Collaborate with a national care team while pioneering local adaptations and innovations • Maintain documentation and workflows that align with Joint Commission standards and payer requirements Who You Are • A licensed therapist in California (LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, or Clinical Psychologist) • Excited to build something new — with the autonomy to lead and the support to grow • Skilled in higher-acuity care (IOP or PHP experience a plus, not required) • An effective communicator and compassionate listener who thrives in a team environment • Comfortable navigating tech-enabled care (EHRs, telehealth platforms, virtual teams) • Values-aligned with Thrive’s mission: clinical rigor, human connection, whole-person healing What We Offer • A founding role in Thrive’s California expansion — with opportunity to shape and lead as we grow • Flexible scheduling (full-time or part-time) and virtual-first model • Competitive compensation with W2 or 1099 options • Ongoing training, CEU support, and clinical consultation • A clinician-first culture that values your voice, your vision, and your well-being Why Now? Why You? We’ve built something that works — and we’re ready to bring it to California. But we’re not looking to “plug and play.” We’re looking for a partner in care — someone ready to help us localize, elevate, and innovate for the communities we’ll serve. This is your chance to lead with heart, grow with purpose, and be the therapist who helped bring Thrive to life in California. Apply now to help build something meaningful — and make Thrive yours.
