Three Way Logistics is an industry leader in material management, logistics, and comprehensive transportation services with proven accuracy, flexibility, and on-time delivery is looking for Riggers for one of their Austin, TX facility. Pay: $20 to $35 per hour - DOE Position Summary: A Rigger/Machine Mover is responsible for safely moving, installing, and positioning heavy machinery, equipment, and structures in a variety of construction and industrial settings. The role requires expertise in operating rigging equipment, understanding load dynamics and ensuring compliance with safety. The employee will work in a team setting and operate specialized equipment including forklifts, wheeled and air casters, jacks, etc. Essential Functions: 1. Equipment Handling a. Carefully selects gear for the job (hoists, slings, shackles, blocks, casters, etc.). b. Secure loads using appropriate rigging tools and techniques. c. Communicates and collaborates with all personnel effectively. d. Dismantle, relocate, and reassemble machinery and equipment as needed. e. Maneuver loads through difficult and confined spaces. 2. Planning and Setup a. Assess and plan rigging operations based on load size, weight, and destination. b. Conduct site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure workspace readiness. c. Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to determine the safest methods for moving machinery. 3. Safety Compliance a. Follow safety protocols and industry regulations during all rigging operations. b. Perform pre-operation checks on rigging and moving equipment to ensure functionality. c. Monitor and guide team members to prevent accidents and equipment damage. 4. Problem-Solving a. Troubleshoot rigging issues or equipment malfunctions during operations. b. Make real-time adjustments to rigging techniques or equipment as required. 5. Documentation and Reporting a. Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance, and job progress. b. Report incidents, equipment issues, or unsafe conditions to supervisors. Skills and Qualifications • Technical Knowledge: Expertise in rigging principles, machinery, and moving techniques. • Physical Ability: Strength, stamina, and coordination to handle heavy equipment and demanding environments. • Able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis and work extended hours as business needs. • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot challenges and ensure smooth operations. • Attention to Detail: Precision in setting up and securing loads for safe transport. • Communication Skills: Clear communication with team members and supervisors. • Unafraid of heights, climbing ladders and scaffolding • If desired, opportunity to travel for project installations. • Required to pass extensive background check and a drug test.
