Assist with studio operations, marketing, fundraising, and documentation management for a dance organization.
Requires high school diploma or equivalent, experience or interest in dance/non-profit, proficiency in MS Office, Google Suite, Canva, social media, and basic marketing tools, with strong communication and multitasking skills.
Position Title: Communications & Operations Intern (0.2 FTE) Job Description: The Communications & Operations Intern is a multifaceted role responsible for shoring up the logistical and operational foundations of the organization. This position is responsible for all Threads online marketing & promotions. The position provides broad exposure to a variety of arts administration careers--opening the door for future exploration. This position is 75% onsite and 25% virtual with set on-site hours. Responsibilities: • Manage studio operations including: (25%) • interfacing with clients; responding to initial rental inquiries • coordinate studio booking with MD • managing studio calendar and bookings • light cleaning and sanitizing • on-site supervision of YDP program classes • Mons - 4:00 - 6:00 pm; Tues & Weds - 4:30 - 7:30 pm • Development & fundraising (20%) • Assist with fundraising event preparation & implementation • Update & Record receipt of contributions on CRM • Marketing & Communications (35%) • Assist w/ Designing and posting content to social media platforms • Promote upcoming performances, events, and workshops in tandem with overall marketing strategy • Documentation Management (20%) • Update all org calendars, contact information and website • record and process incoming payments and expenses under the supervision of the Managing Director (MD) and Accountant • update, organize and file Threads essential documents Education: • HS Diploma or equivalent • BA/BS in Dance, Business Administration, Arts Administration or related fields a plus Qualifications: • Must have reliable transportation to the Threads Dance Nexus (2213 Snelling Ave, Minneapolis, 55404) • Interest/Experience in concert dance, dance education, and non-profit organizations • Proficient in MS Office Suite, Google Suite, CANVA and basic computer literacy and marketing tools • Experience with major social media platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter • Experience using Square Space • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Proactive and forward-thinking • Strong attention to detail, sense of integrity, and work ethic • Strong verbal communications skills and demonstrated ability to write clearly and persuasively • Ability to effectively multi-task, adapt responsively, and work independently • Strong time management skills Reports to: Managing Director Compensation: $15.00- $20/hr. | Additional benefits and discounts are available.
