Position Summary: The Senior Director, Strategic Partnerships & Influencer Marketing is a seasoned and visionary leader who will build and oversee a newly integrated Strategic Partnerships and Influencer Marketing team. This team unites our work across paid influencer relationships, organic influencer/affiliate programs, and sponsorship activations to drive brand awareness, trust, and customer acquisition. The Senior Director will be responsible for developing and executing a cohesive global strategy that leverages sports, celebrity, medical experts, and strategic partners to amplify Thorne’s premium positioning in science-backed wellness. This leader will manage high-profile talent relationships, oversee marquee partnerships (e.g., UFC), and ensure that activations deliver measurable impact against growth objectives. This is a remote position. Responsibilities Strategic Leadership * Define and oversee the integrated Strategic Partnerships & Influencer Marketing strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate priorities, brand positioning, and growth targets. * Translate the Paid Influencer Strategic Framework (T1, Fall 2025) into executional excellence. * Create a unified team culture between Sponsorship Activations and Influencer Marketing functions, with a clear roadmap, briefs, and review cadences (quarterly for example). Influencer & Talent Management * Oversee all paid ambassador relationships (athletes, celebrities, and medical doctors) — including Jrue Holiday, Madison Keys, Don Saladino, Dr. Sara Szal, and others — with planned expansion to ~10 paid influencers in 2026. * Lead scouting, evaluation, and roster planning, ensuring ambassadors align with Thorne’s values (longevity, performance, personalization, credibility, category fit). * Own negotiations and contracts with agents, securing broad usage rights, performance incentives, and content flexibility. * Maintain an integrated deliverables calendar (posts, appearances, webinars, photo/video shoots) and ensure timely, multi-channel activation. Affliliate Ambassadors * Partner with the Director of Influencer Marketing to evolve Thorne’s Affiliate Ambassador Program, scaling it into a best-in-class growth engine. * Set growth targets, budget allocations, and strategic priorities for the affiliate program, ensuring alignment with paid influencer, organic influencer, and sponsorship strategies. * Work cross-functionally with Growth, Paid Media, and eCommerce to ensure ambassadors are integrated into full- funnel campaigns and tracked for measurable performance. * Benchmark Thorne’s program against best-in-class affiliate and ambassador models across categories, identifying areas for innovation and expansion. * Empower the Director of Influencer Marketing to own day-to-day operations, while providing strategic oversight, resources, and senior-level advocacy to accelerate growth. Sponsorship & Partnerships * Evaluate and expand new strategic sponsorship opportunities (endurance, women’s sports, league/player associations, medical institutions). * Lead evaluation, negotiations and deal optimization for additional 2026 and beyond sponsorships. * Develop a long-term sponsorship roadmap, balancing brand credibility partners (medical/scientific institutions, wellness bodies) with high-reach performance properties (athletes, leagues, events). * Empower the Sponsorship Activation Manager to own day-to-day operations, while providing strategic oversight, resources, and senior-level advocacy to accelerate growth. Team & Cross-Functional Collaboration * Directly manage the Director of Influencer Marketing and Sponsorship Activations Manager, providing coaching, prioritization, and professional development. * Foster strong collaboration with PR/Comms, Creative, Growth, Sales, R&D, and Data & Analytics * Partner with Legal and Finance to ensure contracts, budgets, and ROI are optimized. * Seeks formal and informal performance assessments of self, including performance versus expectations and goals, behaviors, and leadership potential. * Participates actively in required training and development programs and electives as suits one’s needs, and support colleagues, trainers, and management as appropriate with these efforts. * Promotes the Company’s Mission and Values, including an accountable, innovative, and results-oriented culture that promotes customer service, openness, teamwork, mutual trust, and respect. What You Need * Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or other relevant fields. * 12+ years in sports marketing, influencer/celebrity marketing, partnerships, or brand strategy, ideally in consumer health, wellness, or lifestyle industries. * Proven success in negotiating high-profile talent and sponsorship contracts. * Strong network and credibility in sports, entertainment, and/or healthcare ecosystems. * Exceptional ability to balance brand-building with performance outcomes. * Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing direct reports. * Strategic, creative, and analytical mindset with proven ability to drive measurable ROI. * Excellent relationship management skills, with comfort navigating agent/league/association dynamics.
