The Inside Sales Representative will empower our customers by providing exceptional service, brand knowledge, and tailored solutions, driving mutual success and growth through proactive selling. This includes qualifying leads, managing assigned customer accounts within region and follow-up on new business opportunities through proactive prospecting to achieve revenue goals. The Inside Sales Representative will manage relationships with customers as a direct point of contact, build and execute sales campaigns, and will rely heavily on data integrity in Thorlabs CRM platform. Although the location of the position can be based out of Newton, NJ, from time to time it may be required to undertake duties at other Thorlabs locations. Essential Job Functions include the following, but are not limited to: Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts within the assigned region, ensuring consistent communication and relationship management. Coordinate, qualify, and manage incoming leads to drive regional growth. Develop sales opportunities by prospecting, researching, and identifying potential new accounts to achieve revenue goals. Maintain and update CRM data, including leads, opportunities, sales campaigns, and customer follow-ups. Collaborate with internal teams to support the deployment of targeted sales campaigns. Support volume pricing requests and ensure timely responses to customer needs. Communicate Thorlabs’ services, brand identity, and tailored solutions effectively. Academic & Government Research Promote and manage the New Lab Program by qualifying leads and supporting onboarding of new accounts. Enhance customer experience and provide E-Procurement solutions. Collaborate with the sales admin team to support quotes and order escalations. Travel to university campuses and government labs for customer visits and relationship development as needed. Experience: 3+ years in similar role with customer service, inside sales, account management and/or project management experience. Education: B.S. required, preferably in business or marketing Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Excellent attention to detail. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Intermediate MS Office proficiency: especially Outlook and Excel, Expert proficiency in Excel, ERP/MRP systems or CRM is highly desirable. Able to learn new technologies, new applications, and new developed products. Ability to fluently write and speak English. Pay range for this position is $ 60,000 - $79,000 depending on experience Other: Up to 10% travel to visit other sites and attend tradeshows. Compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
