• Authorized to work in the US Required • Hybrid Position in Brooklyn, NY • Applicants reside in NY preferred POSITION DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a talented UI/UX DesignerDeveloper to join a multi-year project supporting enterprise applications for the NYC Department of Education. This hybrid, full-time role will design and develop user-centered web interfaces that improve usability, accessibility, and adoption across critical DOE systems. The ideal candidate combines design expertise with front-end development skills, ensuring modern, intuitive, and accessible experiences for thousands of users. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Lead discovery, planning, and user research to define design requirements. • Create wireframes, journey maps, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups. • Translate research findings into intuitive, accessible interfaces that comply with WCAG 2.x standards. • Develop and implement UI components using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. • Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and project managers to deliver cohesive solutions. • Conduct usability testing and iterate designs based on feedback. • Support Agile sprints with design deliverables and ensure consistency across systems. REQUIREMENTS: • Experience: 8+ years in UI/UX design and front-end development. • Technical Skills: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Sketch, InVision, Adobe XD (or similar prototyping tools). • Expertise: Strong knowledge of user-centered design, journey mapping, wireframing, and prototyping. • Accessibility: Demonstrated experience designing to WCAG 2.x compliance. • Collaboration: Excellent communication and ability to work with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with large-scale enterprise or public-sector systems. • Familiarity with DOE or government accessibility and compliance standards.
