## Key Role Overview The Senior Manager, Kitting Operations provides strategic leadership and oversight of kit production and kitting operations to ensure accurate, timely supply of investigational materials to investigator sites. This role acts as the primary liaison between internal teams and external vendors, drives process improvements, monitors key performance indicators, and ensures audit readiness, quality, and service reliability. ## Key Responsibilities - Provide local leadership and direction to kit production and kitting operations staff, ensuring workload is completed accurately and on time. - Review workload metrics to manage staffing levels and advise senior management on future needs. - Oversee daily operations to ensure timely issue resolution. - Serve as the main liaison between kit vendors, Materials Management, procurement, and couriers to ensure appropriate delivery of materials, accurate order fulfillment, and timely receipt of samples. - Review department processes, training, and SOPs to improve efficiency within kit assembly and kitting operations. - Ensure staff receive appropriate training for new hires, new systems, or process changes. - Lead process improvement initiatives focused on kit assembly, packing, quality control checks, and order fulfillment accuracy. - Manage supplier relationships to ensure on-time and compliant deliveries and resolve Kit Vendor Quality Events. - Act as the department contact during sponsor audits and present processes, performance metrics, and documentation to ensure audit readiness and adherence to quality standards. - Analyze departmental financials to achieve EBITA or margin targets and participate in RFI/RFP processes; negotiate vendor agreements. - Make departmental decisions aligned with business strategy, supply chain integration, scalability, and operational efficiency. - Participate in high-level organizational meetings to define strategic initiatives for kit production innovation and continuous improvement. - Serve as a subject matter expert in departmental software, courier systems, and data flows for order fulfillment and kit production; provide system and operations training and resolve technical/process issues. - Attend operational meetings, study protocol reviews, and leadership team events; educate staff on critical issues and represent the department during leadership, audit, or vendor sessions. - Coordinate the internal kitting facility, build and manage work schedules, resource planning, and holiday coverage to maintain continuity and workload balance. - Occasionally assist with backorder creation, order modification, and ship-by date management to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment. ## Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree or equivalent academic or vocational qualification; or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or directly related experience. - Comparable to 10+ years of relevant experience with at least 5+ years of management responsibility. - Proven leadership skills and ability to motivate staff. - Solid management skills, business acumen, and fiscal understanding to make strategic decisions. - Proven negotiation and problem resolution skills. - Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality of client protocols and study data. - Demonstrated executive presence, strong consultation skills, and strategic thought process. - Expert knowledge of site services and investigational products. ## Preferred Qualifications - Experience with departmental software, courier systems, and data flow related to order fulfillment and kit production. - Prior experience managing vendor relationships, participating in RFI/RFPs, and negotiating vendor agreements. - Background in continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization in kit assembly or clinical supply operations. ## Compensation & Benefits - Salary range: Not specified in the posting. - Benefits: Not itemized in the posting; Thermo Fisher notes support for employee health and wellbeing and provides corporate benefits (e.g., typical health, retirement, and related benefits). - Accommodation: Reasonable accommodation is available for individuals with disabilities during the application/interview process and employment. ## Additional Information - Work schedule: Standard Monday–Friday, 1st shift. - Location details: 10085 International Blvd, West Chester Township, OH; work performed in a production or office environment. - Physical/working environment: Exposure to electrical equipment; ability to communicate with diverse groups, work upright/stationary for typical hours, use standard office equipment/technology, and perform under pressure while prioritizing multiple projects. - Employment practices: Thermo Fisher Scientific is an Equal Opportunity Employer; all qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to protected characteristics.
