Work Schedule Standard (Mon-Fri) Environmental Conditions Office Job Description About Thermo Fisher Scientific Thermo Fisher Scientific is the world leader in serving science, with a mission to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. Our digital platforms support customers and internal teams across research, manufacturing, clinical development, and supply chain operations worldwide. About the Platforms This role supports mysupply and related internal and external user applications, including customer-facing platforms (e.g., Salesforce-integrated experiences) and internal operational tools. mysupply is a strategic digital platform that provides end-to-end visibility into supply chain operations, programs, clinical trials, and performance. It brings together data from multiple enterprise systems and cloud data products and presents it through a unified, role-based experience used by both Thermo Fisher teams and external customers globally. The platform spans dashboards, analytics, timelines, workflows, and embedded operational detail—often for users who work deeply with data but need clarity, confidence, and speed rather than complexity. Role Summary The Senior UX Designer is the experience owner for mysupply and related internal and external user applications. This role defines how complex, imperfect enterprise data becomes clear, trustworthy, and actionable for a diverse set of users, including internal operations teams, commercial teams, and external customers. Aligned with Thermo Fisher’s Senior UX / Product Designer job family, this is a hands-on individual contributor role with end-to-end ownership of experience design, strong cross-functional influence, and accountability for usability outcomes. You will partner closely with Product Management, Business Analysts, Engineering, and Data teams to shape experiences from early concept through production—designing for scale, role-based access, and high-stakes operational and customer-facing decisions. Key Responsibilities Experience Strategy & Ownership Own the end-to-end user experience across mysupply modules and related platforms, including internal operational tools and external customer applications (e.g., Salesforce-connected experiences). Define and evolve UX patterns for dashboards, filters, tables, timelines, workflows, and analytics-heavy screens. Ensure a coherent experience across internal and external users while accommodating different roles, permissions, and use cases. Advocate for usability, clarity, accessibility, and data trust in product and design decisions. Interaction & Visual Design Design complex data visualizations, dashboards, and KPI views that are scannable, comparable, and decision-oriented. Translate ambiguous, inconsistent, or incomplete data into intuitive and understandable interactions. Design for role-based visibility, permissions, and customer data segregation across platforms. Produce high-fidelity designs, interaction specifications, and prototypes using modern design tools (e.g., Figma). Partner with engineering to ensure designs are implemented accurately and efficiently. Research & Validation Conduct pragmatic, lightweight user research with internal users and customer-facing teams. Incorporate feedback from support, business analysts, and site partners into continuous design improvements. Validate designs through usability testing and iteration while maintaining delivery momentum. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Delivery Partner closely with: Product Owners and Business Analysts to shape requirements and workflows Engineering teams to ensure feasibility, performance, and correct implementation Data teams to understand data structures, latency, and limitations Participate in backlog grooming, design reviews, and release planning. Support incremental, agile delivery across multiple platforms and teams. Design Systems & Standards Contribute to and evolve shared design systems, UI standards, and reusable patterns across mysupply and related applications. Ensure accessibility (WCAG), responsiveness, and performance-conscious design. Maintain clear documentation for UX patterns, behaviors, and interaction guidelines. Future-Facing UX & Innovation Design experiences that support: Trend analysis and historical comparisons Narrative insights and AI-assisted summaries Expansion to new data sources, modules, and user groups Increased customer self-service and autonomy Help shape how advanced analytics and AI-driven capabilities are surfaced in ways users understand and trust. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or equivalent practical experience. 7+ years of experience in UX, product design, or interaction design for complex digital applications. Strong portfolio demonstrating experience with: Data-heavy dashboards and analytics Enterprise or B2B products Complex workflows and role-based experiences Proficiency with modern design tools (e.g., Figma). Strong foundation in interaction design, information architecture, and visual hierarchy. Experience working closely with engineering teams in agile delivery environments. Preferred Qualifications Experience designing for life sciences, pharmaceuticals, supply chain, or other regulated industries. Familiarity with data platforms, KPIs, analytics concepts, or operational reporting. Experience designing search, filtering, and large-scale data tables. Exposure to AI/ML-enabled features, data storytelling, or insight generation. Experience designing for both internal enterprise users and external customers. Key Skills & Attributes Ability to simplify messy, imperfect data into clear and usable experiences. Systems thinker who designs for scale, reuse, and long-term evolution. Clear communicator who can explain and defend design decisions with logic and evidence. Pragmatic mindset—knows when “good and shipped” is better than “perfect and late.” Strong collaboration skills with a low-ego, outcome-focused approach. Why This Role Matters Users of mysupply and related platforms make real operational, clinical, and customer-facing decisions based on what they see. This role ensures those experiences are clear, credible, and usable—turning complex enterprise data into confidence, trust, and action across Thermo Fisher’s global ecosystem.
