DESCRIPTION: Plan and execute cross-functional projects that drive the digital transformation of the PPD clinical research business of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s commercial organization. Responsible for day-to-day project management from discovery to launch according to time, cost, and quality standards. Partners with cross-functional, global teams to deliver measurable impact aligned with strategic objectives. Major Job Responsibilities: Manage a range of complex projects that span one or multiple lines of business, with a focus on digital transformation of the commercial organization. Own end-to-end project success (from discovery to launch), delivering on-time, quantitative, and qualitative results according to timelines, budget, and quality standards. Collaborate with business teams to develop business cases of proposed ideas, including project scope and objectives, return on investment (ROI) measurements, and benefits. Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resources, and action logs. Plan and manage project timelines, budgets, and resources. Provide leadership of the project team by effectively collaborating, communicating, and motivating team members to meet project goals and adhere to their responsibilities and project milestones. Challenge the current thought process of team members and status quo of business processes. Manage vendor and technology partner relationships as needed. Identify and handle interdependencies, risks, issues, and actions, facilitating decision-making related to complexities through effective risk management strategies and escalating as appropriate. Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, issues, and success metrics, communicating across all organizational levels, including senior leadership. Drive adoption of digital solutions, proactively incorporating change management into project plans from the start. Create and deliver user training and communications in collaboration with the Commercial Enablement and Effectiveness and Communications teams. Actively contribute to commercial processes and guidance documents. Mentor and coach junior team members. Qualifications: Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic/vocational qualification. Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 8+ years). In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Project management certification preferred (e.g., PMP, Agile). Change management certification preferred (e.g., ProSci). Excellence in managing cross-functional projects with little oversight (e.g., time, quality, cost). Digital/AI project management experience preferred. Expertise in various technological systems (e.g., SharePoint, automation technologies, generative artificial intelligence [AI]). Expertise in commercial processes (e.g., marketing, proposals, business development) with commercial experience in the CRO industry preferred. Superior written and verbal communication skills. Strong financial acumen. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and influence skills and problem-solving ability, with ability to interact and build relationships with individuals at all levels, including senior leadership, and across different departments and time zones. Strong ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, with effective judgment and decision-making skills, assessing situations to determine the importance, urgency, and risks and meeting deadlines with a quality product. Willingness to learn and develop, applying feedback provided from supervisors and from project stakeholders. Excellent attention to detail. Excellent business maturity and professionalism. Superior use and knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite. Working Conditions and Environment: Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment. Exposure to high pressure, intense concentration needed. Must pay constant attention to detail-visual, mental. Must be able to multitask constantly. Frequent interaction with associates required. Long, varied hours required occasionally. Travel required on rare occasions. Physical Requirements: Frequently stationary for 6-8 hours per day. Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Frequent mobility required. Occasional crouching, stooping, bending, and twisting of upper body and neck. Light to moderate lifting and carrying (or otherwise moves) objects including luggage and laptop computer with a maximum lift of 15-20 lbs. Regular and consistent attendance. Compensation and Benefits The salary range estimated for this position based in North Carolina is $93,800.00–$125,000.00. This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
