The Director of Operations – Multi-Site is a senior operations leader responsible for driving performance, scalability, and operational excellence across multiple manufacturing sites in the Filtration & Separation Division. This role also serves as the Site Lead for the Charlotte, NC facility, with full accountability for site performance, culture, safety, compliance, and financial results. The Director will lead end-to-end operations, including manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, and continuous improvement, ensuring world-class performance in safety, quality, delivery, and cost while enabling commercial growth. Key Responsibilities Multi-Site Leadership Lead operations strategy and execution across multiple sites. Align network capacity, capital planning, and operational resources to support growth. Drive standardization, best practice sharing, and continuous improvement across locations. Ensure consistent performance against safety, quality, service, and cost targets. Charlotte Site Lead Serve as leader for the Charlotte, NC manufacturing facility. Own full site P&L performance and operating plan delivery. Lead the site leadership team and foster a strong culture of accountability and engagement. Champion a strong safety-first culture and ensure compliance with all regulatory and quality requirements. Act as senior representative to customers and corporate leadership. Operational Excellence Lead deployment of Thermo Fisher’s PPI business system. Drive productivity, OEE improvement, cost reduction, and working capital performance. Implement Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to improve efficiency and scalability. Financial & Strategic Leadership Develop and manage annual operating plans and capital budgets. Partner cross-functionally with Commercial, Finance, Quality, and Supply Chain. Support strategic initiatives including capacity expansion and footprint optimization. Talent Development Build and develop high-performing leadership teams. Drive succession planning and organizational capability development. Promote Thermo Fisher’s 4i Values and a culture of safety and continuous improvement. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred 10+ years of progressive operations leadership experience in regulated manufacturing, including plant manager experience Experience leading multi-site or complex manufacturing operations at scale Demonstrated P&L ownership and financial management expertise Experience leading through growth, transformation, or operational turnarounds Lean/Six Sigma or advanced continuous improvement training Strong leadership, communication, and change management capabilities Ability to travel up to 25% Thank you for your interest as you consider starting a new career journey with us.
