Work Schedule Standard (Mon-Fri) Environmental Conditions Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.) Job Description Seeking a Clinical Applications Development Specialist with expertise in Next Generation Sequencing and Diagnostics to join our team. You would be part of a field-based team focused on supporting the clinical testing market. This role is based on-site at our Sacramento, CA Lab. Responsibilities Develop Thermo Fisher business and relationship by providing: Primary support for Clinical Applications Development our Thermo Fisher Scientific / Ion Torrent product portfolio (mainly NGS) including the development of customer and internal technical training material. Support and develop IVD products, including Oncomine Target Test, globally. Support the continued development of the Oncomine Target Test by working with our Pharma partners as a member of Internal Content Development team. Work closely with the internal core team to build strategies for new NGS assays and products' mentorship and development. Responsible for enhancing customer value/satisfaction by aligning complex product solutions and services with key customer initiatives. Maintain relationships with key Thermo Fisher Scientific core team partners Job duties will include the following tasks: Provide on-site training until customers are certified and proficient using Oncomine Target Test and other IVD assays in their labs. Develop Service and Support plan for new products as a member of core product development team. Troubleshooting of NGS systems and assays to support customers. Provide technical and applications assistance in response to customer inquiries, specifically PGM Dx. Building internal and external training materials. Work in collaboration with the Program Management and Project Core teams to set up the best support strategy for each customer site. Develop positive relationships with customers! Maintain consistent and structured communication with counterparts and articulate summarized communication to Manager on a periodic basis. Align with other teams in the company on a regular basis. Estimated 50-75% travel. Experience/Qualifications/Qualities that are important in this role BA/BS (with experience) or MS degree in Life Sciences, PhD preferred. Experience in NGS sequencing, Capillary Electrophoresis, qPCR, and RT-PCR (experience with PGM or PGM Dx desirable) Understanding of healthcare industry standards, guidelines, and environments. A technically savvy individual who can assess customer clinical needs and implement training and experimental approaches to ensure customer success. Previous experience as application specialist desirable (NGS experience desirable) Excellent communication and influencing skills A problem solver with proven ability to overcome technical hurdles. Ability to understand and articulate complex scientific literature and use extensive complex clinical data. Strong teaching skills and the ability to develop training curriculum and training materials. Strong drive for success! Medical background, laboratory experience, and/or managed care. Compensation and Benefits The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $83,500.00–$111,000.00. This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
