JOB TITLE: Human Resources Generalist REPORTS TO: Director of Human Resources FLSA STATUS: Exempt JOB OVERVIEW: The Human Resources Generalist is a qualified professional who acts as an advocate for the company, its management team, and its employees. This individual oversees the employee life cycle and strives to provide each employee with an ultimate employee experience. As an advocate for the company, this individual assists the Director of Human Resources in working with brokers and third parties to ensure the best benefits and services are available to employees while protecting the best interest of the company. He/ She maintains an open relationship with management by assisting with personnel issues and questions. MUST RESIDE IN TEXAS - NO RELOCATION ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: • Answer employee questions and requests. • Maintain and update employee records. • Process new hire paperwork and benefit enrollment. • Process separated employee files, set up COBRA as needed, cancel benefits. • Facilitate monthly benefit conference calls, answer employee questions, and assist in enrollment. • Process workplace injury paperwork, report to Workers’ Compensation Insurance, and file with OSHA log. • Assist employees with FMLA and Leave of Absence paperwork, coordinate time away with supervisor, and submit disability claims. • Process payroll on a bi-weekly basis. • Complete other related functions as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: • A Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or a related field OR 2-5 years of experience as a Human Resources Professional. • Excellent communication and organizational skills. • Working knowledge of standard Microsoft Office Suite. • Experience working with an HRIS (Human Resources Information System). • Experience with and knowledge of payroll. • Ability to adapt to a fast paced environment. • Knowledge and experience with employee benefits, including: health, life, and retirement. • OSHA: Position is considered to have opportunity for routine exposure to blood borne pathogens in the normal performance of job duties.
