About Theraheart Theraheart is a dynamic, fast-pace startup located in Irvine, CA. We are looking to revolutionize treatment of heart failure with our innovative ablation catheter technology. The team uses a comprehensive approach to medical device development by considering the needs of patients and medical professionals to ensure the right solutions are brought to the operating room. The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced and motivated R&D Technician (or Technologist) to join our core development team. You will be central to advancing our device development for current Theraheart catheter products. You will also play a major role in the early prototyping and development of novel adjacent technologies that Theraheart is looking to expand into. Some of the roles and activities in this job include: • Build and test complex prototypes that directly impact program milestones & unmet patient needs. • Work meticulously and manage the R&D laboratory with strong focus on documentation and quality. • Apply deep catheter and electrical manufacturing knowledge to translate designs into functional devices. • Fabricate complex medical device prototypes, manufacturing processes, and fixtures. Key Responsibilities • Hands-on Prototyping: Directly fabricate, assemble, and test complex catheter for R&D and clinical use. Provide input into product design, processes, and testing. • Process Refinement: Apply your expertise in structural heart, catheters, and manufacturing to refine device designs and assembly processes. • Testing & Validation: Perform Verification and Validation (V&V) activities, including mechanical testing, visual inspections, and functional testing. • Lab Organization and Maintenance: Maintain inventory of materials and consumables. Support equipment maintenance and calibration, ensuring safe lab operation and compliance with company procedures. • Team Collaboration: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, scientists, and clinicians in a fast-paced and collaborative setting. Required Qualifications & Skills • 5+ years of hands-on experience in medical device manufacturing or prototyping. • Advanced skills in micro-assembly and fine-detail precision work. • Knowledge of processes and/or machinery and equipment used in the development and production of medical devices. • Proactive problem-solver able to thrive in a startup setting with shifting priorities. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • High school diploma or equivalent. Desired Qualifications • Working knowledge of CAD software platforms like SolidWorks. • Experience with incoming quality inspections and manufacturing. • Direct experience with complex structural heart catheters.
