Content Platforms & Operations is responsible for the development and ongoing advancement of the technical and operational functions driving the worldwide distribution and monetization of Disney’s linear networks and theatrical content. This includes Disney’s media supply chain and storage, network and theatrical distribution operations, media localization, network transmission and origination, and more. The global team also plays a critical role as the primary collaboration point for Product & Technology with Disney’s EMEA, APAC, and LATAM regional business teams. The Rights & Accounting fleet oversees products and optimizes workflows that enable TWDC to monetize content including content rights and avails management, content sales and content protection, content accounting, and talent payments. Job Summary: As a Sr Software Engineer on Disney’s Content Platforms team, you will design and build responsive, high-performance web applications that power accounting workflows for payments to content creators and rights holders across Disney Movies and TV. You will take ownership of user experience decisions and the technical design and implementation of medium-sized projects and features. In this role, you will focus on the user-facing applications that support accounting workflows for payments to content creators and rights holders across Disney Movies and TV. You will collaborate closely with UX/UI designers, engineers, and product partners to deliver elegant, usable interfaces backed by seamless API integrations. Responsibilities: Design and develop responsive, high-performance web applications using React, TypeScript, JavaScript, and modern CSS frameworks, leading development of larger features and epics. Collaborate with UX/UI designers and take ownership of user experience decisions to implement elegant and usable interfaces. Write clean, maintainable, and testable code, and influence engineering best practices across the team. Drive front-end performance optimization for scalability and responsiveness. Design and integrate with APIs and backend services, ensuring seamless communication. Lead code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge sharing, mentoring teammates and helping onboard new team members. Stay current with emerging web technologies and drive improvements to our front-end architecture. Deliver multiple projects utilizing an Agile methodology, following the principles set forth by the team while bringing a fresh perspective to our processes and new/enhanced technical tools. Build and enhance front-end frameworks and solutions that scale and perform, reviewing code for design, testability, and clear usability, and identifying opportunities to improve the product with each iteration. Minimum Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in web application development or software engineering using JavaScript, TypeScript, React, HTML, and CSS, including expertise with modern UI frameworks. Strong knowledge of UI performance optimization techniques. Strong debugging and problem-solving skills. Experience with Git and CI/CD workflows. Experience with testing frameworks. Experience leading feature development and mentoring or onboarding teammates. Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams. Care about your craft and have opinions about the “right” way to do things with technolog Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with various Amazon Web Services such as S3 buckets, EKS, EC2, SQS/SNS, Lambdas, RDS, and more. Understanding of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and WebSockets. Knowledge of performance and application profiling. A strong curiosity about how Disney delivers the Magic and a desire to be a part of it. The hiring range for this position in California is $141,900.00 to $190,300.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
