Role Overview: As the Urban Outdoors Program Manager, you will spearhead initiatives that connect urban communities with nature through innovative outdoor programs. Your role is pivotal in fostering environmental awareness, promoting inclusivity, and enhancing public access to natural spaces within urban settings. What You'll Do: - You will develop and implement engaging outdoor programs tailored to diverse urban populations. - You will collaborate with community partners, schools, and local organizations to expand program reach. - You will manage program budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure successful delivery. - You will lead outreach efforts to promote participation and build strong community relationships. - You will evaluate program effectiveness through data collection and participant feedback. - You will train and supervise program staff and volunteers to maintain high-quality experiences. - You will advocate for urban conservation and outdoor education within the organization and the community. - You will contribute to grant writing and fundraising efforts to support program sustainability. What You Bring: - A minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, preferably in environmental education or urban outreach. - Strong knowledge of urban ecology, conservation principles, and outdoor recreation. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage diverse audiences. - Proven ability to manage budgets, coordinate multiple projects, and lead teams. - Experience with community partnership development and stakeholder engagement. - Proficiency in data analysis and program evaluation methods. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience working with underserved or marginalized urban communities. - Background in grant writing and fundraising within the nonprofit sector. - Familiarity with Massachusetts’ conservation landscape and The Trustees’ properties. - Skills in digital marketing and social media to enhance program visibility.
