Role Overview: As the Urban Outdoors Program Manager, you will lead initiatives that connect urban communities with nature through innovative outdoor programs. Your role is pivotal in expanding access to green spaces, promoting environmental education, and enhancing community involvement in conservation efforts. What You'll Do: - You will develop and implement urban outdoor programs that engage diverse community groups. - You will collaborate with local partners, schools, and community organizations to expand program reach. - You will manage program budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure successful delivery. - You will oversee volunteer recruitment, training, and coordination to support program activities. - You will evaluate program effectiveness through data collection and reporting. - You will advocate for urban conservation initiatives within the organization and to external stakeholders. - You will organize events and workshops that promote outdoor education and environmental awareness. - You will contribute to grant writing and fundraising efforts to support program growth. What You Bring: - You have at least 5 years of experience in program management, preferably in environmental education or community outreach. - You possess strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously. - You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage diverse audiences. - You are proficient in data analysis and reporting to assess program impact. - You have experience working with urban communities and a passion for conservation. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience in grant writing and fundraising. - Knowledge of Massachusetts’ conservation landscape and community needs. - Background in environmental science or related field. - Fluency in a second language relevant to local communities.
