The Simple Good – Event Coordinator Status: Part-Time Contractor (Feb. 2026 – Dec. 2026) Reports To: Chief Operating Officer Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid; in-person required for key meetings and events) Start Date: Immediately About The Simple Good The Simple Good (TSG) connects the meaning of “good” from around the world to empower youth to become positive leaders through art and social emotional learning. We believe everyone has a role in creating good, and we are seeking a highly organized Event Coordinator to lead execution of our fundraising and community events. Position Overview The Event Coordinator is responsible for planning and executing TSG’s fundraising and community events, with primary responsibility for logistics, production coordination, and stakeholder management. This role ensures events are well organized, professionally executed, and aligned with fundraising and engagement goals. In 2026, the Event Coordinator will establish core event systems, manage logistics, and lead execution of TSG’s June summer fundraiser. In December 2026, organizational leadership will evaluate the scope of the role for 2027 based on performance and organizational needs. Key ResponsibilitiesEvent Planning and Execution • Plan and execute fundraising and community events, including TSG’s June fundraiser • Develop and manage detailed timelines and run-of-show documents • Coordinate venue logistics, setup, program flow, and breakdown • Serve as primary on-site coordinator and venue liaison • Maintain organized tracking systems for all event elements Volunteer Coordination • Recruit, schedule, and manage event volunteers • Develop clear role descriptions and day-of assignments • Lead volunteer orientation and serve as primary volunteer contact Donations and Silent Auction Management • Solicit, track, and manage silent auction and in-kind donations • Maintain accurate records of donor information and fair market values • Coordinate pickup and transport of donated items as needed • Provide complete documentation to support acknowledgment and reporting Vendor and Event Talent Management • Coordinate communication and logistics with vendors and event partners • Support production needs for live painters, DJ, and emcee, including staging and timing • Ensure all partners understand expectations, timelines, and event flow • Serve as primary point of contact before and during the event Time Commitment (2026 Estimated) • February–March: approximately 5 hours per week • April–May: up to 10 hours per week • June: approximately 20 hours per week • Event week (final week of June): up to 50 hours Qualifications • Experience coordinating events or fundraisers • Strong organizational and project management skills • Experience working with volunteers, vendors, and artists preferred • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Detail-oriented with strong tracking and documentation skills • Chicago-based or able to attend in-person event activities Metrics for Success • Volunteers recruited, trained, and prepared before event day • Accurate and complete donation tracking and documentation • Clear coordination with vendors and event talent • Event runs on schedule with minimal last-minute issues • Positive feedback from guests, volunteers, and stakeholders • Organized records to support year-end reporting Job Types: Part-time, Contract, Temporary Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour Benefits: • Professional development assistance Application Question(s): • What does the simple good mean to you?
