Full Description

Position Purpose The Technical Lead Manager position is a player-coach position that leads our solution engineering efforts at The Signatry. This hybrid role balances hands-on technical work (50-70%) with leadership, mentorship, and team coordination (30-50%). He/She will provide architectural oversight; manage internal and external engineering collaboration; and ensure data security alignment in solutions. The Technical Lead Manager will work closely with the CIO and other business and technology product owners for prioritization, requirement clarity and acceptance testing. Primary Responsibilities Technical Execution (50-70%) Design and architect technical solutions within The Signatry's ​​​​preferred technology stack (CRM, Give Interactive, cloud platforms, APIs) that align with business requirements and scalability needs. Lead complex technical implementations including system integrations, API development, workflow automation, and custom application components. Write, review, and optimize code for critical projects, setting quality standards through example while ensuring maintainability and performance. Prototype and evaluate emerging technologies, architectural approaches, and technical solutions to inform strategic decisions. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges across systems, serving as the escalation point for the most difficult technical problems. Conduct thorough code reviews providing constructive feedback that elevates code quality and promotes best practices across the team ​​​​​Leadership and Team Development (30 – 50%) Break down epics and complex initiatives into well-scoped, achievable tasks that enable the team to execute effectively. Guide technical direction by establishing engineering standards, design patterns, and architectural principles that ensure consistency and long-term maintainability. Mentor and develop Solutions Engineers through pairing sessions, technical guidance, career coaching, and skill development opportunities. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration by maintaining relationships with business stakeholders, product owners, system administrators, and external vendors. Unblock team members by providing technical expertise, removing obstacles, and ensuring they have the context and resources needed to succeed. Ensure architectural consistency across projects and systems, balancing technical debt management with innovation and feature delivery. Coordinate priorities with product owners and the CIO, translating business needs into technical roadmaps and ensuring sustainable delivery practices. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, promoting knowledge sharing, documentation, and collaborative problem-solving within the engineering team. Key Qualifications and Skills Essential Alignment with The Signatry’s mission, values, and statement of faith. Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). 7-10 years of software development experience with demonstrated progression in technical complexity and scope. Proven track record of leading technical initiatives from design through deployment, including complex integrations and system architecture decisions. Strong proficiency in modern development technologies including cloud platforms (GCP or AWS preferred), API design, database management, and DevOps practices. Experience with CRM platforms (e.g., HubSpot) or foundation management systems, including customization and integration. Demonstrated leadership skills including mentoring, technical decision-making, and the ability to influence without direct authority. Excellent communication abilities to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and facilitate alignment across teams. Strong problem-solving aptitude with the ability to balance immediate needs with long-term architectural considerations. Experience with agile methodologies and iterative development practices in cross-functional team environments. Understanding of security best practices including secure coding, data protection, and integration security patterns Preferred Advanced cloud platform certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert). Experience in nonprofit technology, financial services, or regulated industries requiring compliance and data governance. Track record of technical mentorship with measurable impact on team growth and code quality improvements. Familiarity with AI/ML technologies and their application in business process automation or data analytics. Master's degree in computer science, information systems, or related technical discipline. Experience managing technical partnerships with vendors, contractors, or offshore development teams. Work Location This full-time, salary position can be based in our corporate office in Overland Park, KS in a hybrid in-office/WFH setting; or can be considered a remote position based upon the candidate. Pay Range This full-time, salary position pays $150,000 annually, paid out bi-monthly. Benefits Medical, dental, basic life and disability insurance coverage is 100% covered for the employee.
