Department Summary: Campus Life, a division of Student Affairs, provides leadership and administrative oversight for multiple units including the Community Programs Office (CPO), the Office of Student Organizations, Leadership, and Engagement (SOLE), Recreation and Wellbeing, Veteran Services, Fraternity & Sorority Life, LGBTQ Campus Resource Center (LGBTQ), Spirit Squad, Volunteer Center, Commuter Support Services, Student Organization Funding, Outreach & Retention student-initiated projects, Respondent Services and Student Alumni Programs & Family Engagement, with annual revenues and expenditures approaching $40M Position Summary: Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Human Resources for Campus Life, the Human Resource Analyst provides comprehensive support to the Division of Campus Life. This role is part of the divisional business center, with primary support dedicated to UCLA Recreation, while also assisting other departments within Campus Life as needed. The incumbent provides a wide range of personnel and payroll services; analyzes and develops department payroll reports; assesses payroll/personnel business processes and recommends practices to align with UCPath/TRS requirements; and coordinates with departmental staff in the review and submission of accurate hiring and payroll information. Additional responsibilities include management and execution of livescan fingerprint process; development implementation and training of processes related to personnel, payroll, and the orientation of new employees to TRC and the UCPATH Portal; and the maintenance of personnel files. The qualified candidate will possess the ability to navigate the complexities associated with payroll/personnel and workforce administration and apply their knowledge to the UCPath environment, and have a high aptitude for developing and analyzing various reports to assist department leadership in decision making. Qualifications: • Demonstrated working knowledge of payroll policies and procedures, including timekeeping and reporting principles. Working knowledge of employee relations principles, recruitment, and overall employment process. (Required) • Skill in computer software applications, particularly in a Windows environment, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook programs. (Required) • Typing skills sufficient to enter vast amounts of information into computerized recordkeeping and processing systems accurately and in a timely order to meet campus deadlines (Required) • Ability to maintain sensitive information confidentially.Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines while coping with a fluctuating workload and competing requirements. (Required) • Skill in performing efficiently and courteously while coping with frequent interruptions and distractions in an open environment.Ability to explain procedures and reasoning in a concise, logical, thorough and practical manner. (Required) • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build cooperative, effective relationships with students, staff, administration, volunteers, and the general public. (Preferred) • Bachelors degree in related area and/or equivalent experience / training.
