Company Description The Realms of Asgard (TROA), founded in 2017, is an inclusive and supportive gaming community designed as a safe space for gamers from all backgrounds. Specializing in space-themed and sandbox games such as Star Citizen, Minecraft, and No Man’s Sky, TROA delivers a high-quality gaming experience supported by enterprise-grade server infrastructure. As a registered nonprofit organization, TROA is dedicated to mental health awareness and suicide prevention, with a mission centered on breaking down barriers, building connection, and working to #StopTheStigma surrounding mental health. TROA collaborates with nationally recognized mental health organizations and maintains partnerships with corporate sponsors and community partners who support and strengthen the organization’s mission. TROA is built on compassion, shared purpose, and a deep sense of heart from those who make up the community. TROA is currently in an active growth and expansion phase. As awareness of the mission increases, community engagement and demand for programs continue to grow. TROA operates through three active divisions and is supported by a dedicated team of 30+ volunteer team members who contribute their time, skills, and lived experience to expand the organization’s impact. Volunteer Role Description TROA is seeking nonprofit volunteer team members who are passionate about mental health advocacy, community building, and meaningful service. Volunteers will work within one of TROA’s three divisions based on skills, interests, and availability, and will play an essential role in supporting both internal operations and outward-facing initiatives. At this time, all positions are volunteer (unpaid) as TROA continues to build sustainable funding. The organization does have corporate sponsors and strategic partnerships, and as TROA grows, it will continue pursuing grants and expanded funding opportunities with the long-term goal of offering stipends or paid roles where possible. While future compensation cannot be guaranteed, volunteers who join during this growth phase will have opportunities to help shape programs, grow into leadership roles, and be considered for funded positions as they become available. Open Volunteer Positions TROA is currently recruiting for the following volunteer roles: • Legal • Administrative • Mental Health Advocates • Moderators • Community Leaders • HR Generalist • Content Creators • Social Media Managers and Directors • Public Relations Specialists • IT Specialists • Full Stack Developers • Web Application Developers • Mod Developers • Other Development Roles (software, tools, platform, and automation) • Stream Team Streamers (Twitch) Qualifications • Passion for mental health advocacy, suicide prevention, and nonprofit work • Interest or experience in one or more of the listed volunteer roles • Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills • Familiarity with online communities, gaming platforms, or digital tools is a plus • Ability to foster a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful environment • Willingness to work as part of a distributed volunteer team • Prior nonprofit or volunteer experience is beneficial but not required Call to Action If this sounds like you and you want to help us #StopTheStigma surrounding mental health, we invite you to complete our volunteer application.
