Full Description

Overview: Tests and inspects product at various stages of production process and complies and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of product. Responsibilities: • Monitors sanitation and proper sanitation procedures. • Inspects processing equipment to ensure it’s completely sanitized prior to running production. • Monitors specific processes assigned for each product, i.e., quality (grade), weight control, etc. • Records test data applying statistical quality control procedures. • Maintains and files test data records. • Assists Production Dept. in meeting company specifications and government regulations. • Notifies production supervisor and QC manager if samples are out of grade. • Performs analysis for enzyme deactivation (Peroxidase/Catalyse). • Checks and records blancher temperatures and retention time. • Checks chlorine concentrations in waste line at chiller, sprayers, residual, etc. • Checks and records net/drained weights. • Checks scales to ensure calibration (accurate weight and balance). • Inspects packaging, labels and coding to ensure compliance with customer specifications. • Adheres to all company and facility policies, work rules, and procedures. • Will don personal protective equipment (PPE) before commencing work. • Follows all safety guidelines set forth by the Company. • Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent EXPERIENCE: • Experience in food quality assurance or related field preferred, but not required. • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. • Familiarity with HACCP, GMP, and statistical analysis preferred, but not required. • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry LANGUAGE: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules/signs, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures
