Position Summary The Patient Revolution seeks a highly experienced, dynamic, and mission-driven individual to serve as its Development Director. With input from the Executive Director, this key leadership role is responsible for the overall strategy, planning, execution, and management of all fundraising activities to ensure the financial sustainability and growth of the organization. The Development Director will build a robust and diverse funding portfolio and operational advancement infrastructure, and will cultivate strong relationships with individual donors, foundations, and other funding partners who share our commitment to transforming healthcare, those already in TPR’s pipeline and those not yet acquainted with the vital and transformative mission of the organization. We are currently a small, non-profit organization with an annual operating budget of ~$500,000 and aspirations for growth. This position reports to the Executive Director. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership and Planning ● Design, implement, and manage a comprehensive annual development plan with clear goals, objectives, and metrics to meet or exceed the organization’s fundraising targets. ● Work closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to integrate fundraising into the organization’s strategic vision and programming. ● Monitor, analyze, and report on fundraising performance against goals, providing regular updates to leadership. Fundraising Operations and Management ● Oversee all aspects of fundraising operations, ensuring best practices in donor data management, gift processing, acknowledgment, and reporting. ● Manage and grow a diversified portfolio of funding streams, including major gifts, foundation grants, annual fund appeals, events, and corporate partnerships. Donor and Major Gift Cultivation ● Identify, research, cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of prospective and current major donors. ● Serve as a primary relationship manager, representing The Patient Revolution at key meetings, events, and one-on-one solicitations. ● Develop compelling case statements, proposals, and personalized solicitation strategies for high-net-worth individuals. Foundation Relations and Grant Writing ● Lead the foundation solicitation and participate in the grant writing process from identification and research to proposal submission, reporting, and stewardship. ● Help craft persuasive, high-quality grant proposals and reports that effectively communicate the mission, impact, and needs of The Patient Revolution. Annual Fund Appeals ● Develop and execute multi-channel annual fund campaigns (digital, mail, social media) to broaden the donor base and increase recurring revenue. ● Oversee the creation of compelling and timely communications, appeals, and stewardship materials. Qualifications Required Experience and Skills Qualified candidates will be comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment and be able to adapt The Patient Revolution’s story to a wide variety of audiences across the US. The right candidate will also be skilled at engaging audiences with an organization that has limited brand recognition (at present), but whose mission and vision are universally appealing. ● Minimum of 5years of successful experience in non-profit fundraising, with overall expertise in all aspects of strategic fundraising planning and operations. ● Demonstrated experience in securing significant gifts through major gift solicitations. ● Proven track record in successful foundation solicitation and the grant writing process. ● Experience planning and executing effective annual fund appeals. ● Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to craft compelling narratives and make persuasive presentations. ● A proven self-starter who is highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously. ● Highly effective at relationship building, possessing strong interpersonal skills and a genuine enjoyment in engaging with people from diverse backgrounds. ● Proficiency with CRM software/donor databases (e.g., Razors Edge, Sales Forces, Bloomerang) for tracking donor relations and managing campaigns. Preferred Experience ● Experience working within or closely related to the non-profit healthcare sector. ● Work with advocacy or community-based organizations, social enterprise movements, healthcare transformation efforts, or related fields, is a plus. Details ● Location: This position is remote, with occasional travel for donor events and meetings. ● Salary: This is a 0.75 FTE position with an annual salary range of $52,500–$60,000 (based on a full-time equivalent salary of $70,000–$80,000). ● Benefits: Three weeks PTO.
