Now Hiring: Finance Director — Affordable Housing Development (Sacramento, CA) Full-Time | Onsite | Executive Leadership Role Are you a mission-driven finance leader ready to make a meaningful impact in affordable housing? My client, a respected and purpose-focused affordable housing developer, is seeking a strong, strategic, and confident Finance Director to guide all financial operations and support their expanding portfolio. This is a key leadership role overseeing the financial health of the organization while partnering closely with the Executive Director and Executive Team. You’ll shape financial strategy, present to boards and government partners, and lead a high-performing team—including Finance Managers who report directly to you. What You’ll Lead ✔️ Oversee all financial functions for affordable housing development ✔️ Deliver frequent, accurate financial reporting ✔️ Guide accounting operations aligned with GAAP ✔️ Partner with program leaders to support strategic initiatives ✔️ Navigate government compliance, funding regulations & public financing ✔️ Support long-range planning, budgets, and investment strategies ✔️ Maintain strong relationships with board members, public agencies & stakeholders ✔️ Ensure internal auditing and efficient financial procedures ✔️ Manage agency budgets, grants, loans, bonds, and redevelopment funds You Are a Strong Fit If You: 💼 Bring deep affordable housing finance & development experience 🏛️ Are confident presenting to boards and speaking with government agencies 📊 Understand complex funding sources, compliance, and public finance 🤝 Thrive in executive-level collaboration 🧭 Can create clarity, drive accountability, and model “one team” leadership 🌱 Value mission-driven work and community impact Leadership Responsibilities Include: • Directing financial strategy and department performance • Coaching, developing, and supervising finance staff • Ensuring excellent customer service to internal teams • Setting annual goals, performance reviews, and department objectives • Supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence If you're ready to bring your expertise to a role where your financial leadership directly contributes to expanding affordable housing in California, I’d love to connect.
