Full Description

The National Milk Producers Federation (NMPF) is seeking a dynamic, experienced sustainability professional to provide their expertise in stakeholder engagement, training and educational resource development, and program design and improvement to enhance U.S. dairy’s on-farm environmental and labor customer assurance programs (FARM Environmental Stewardship and Workforce Development, respectively). Responsibilities External Stakeholder Engagement: Manage ongoing operations of FARM Environmental Stewardship and Workforce Development Provide onboarding and ongoing support to participating cooperatives and processors Answer technical questions from evaluators and farmers about the program, reaching out to subject matter experts as needed Represent organization in relevant external efforts, e.g. Agricultural Safety and Health Council of America, Dairy Girl Network, Dairy Sustainability Alliance Meeting Planning Coordinate activities of FARM ES and FARM WFD governance groups: maintain up-to-date rosters; send meeting invites; take and send minutes; manage meeting follow-ups Training and Learning Materials: Manage learning and knowledge sharing opportunities for on-farm evaluators through such avenues as quarterly discussion groups and maintaining robust FAQ pages Manage maintenance and update of external resources Lead process for review and update of evaluator and farmer support materials (Pocket Guide, User Guide, HR templates, state legal fact sheets, etc.) Coordinate as needed with external vendors and internal staff from other departments Facilitate evaluator training program through managing enrollment, supporting curriculum development, working with training vendor to manage successful implementation, and other as-needed duties Program Quality and Improvement: Provide analysis and input into program alignment with recognized external standards and protocols (e.g. GHG Protocol, CDP, SBTi, etc.) Conduct research and summarize findings to inform development of FARM ES and WFD programs Actively contribute to continued refinement of FARM ES as the underlying scientific model changes and farmer needs evolve Coordinate FARM ES and FARM WFD and update processes Coordinate with FARM team members to execute periodic evaluator input surveys Compile and analyze stakeholder feedback and questions received to inform program updates Contribute to content updates as needed Serve as internal FARM ES and WFD representative for coordination with FARM communications and software / database staff Education & Experience 2-5 years of experience in sustainability and/or agriculture Bachelor’s degree required, with a preference for a related field, such as Environmental Science, Environmental Policy, Agronomy and Crop Science, Sustainable Agriculture, Agribusiness Management, Dairy Science, Occupational Safety & Health, or Human Resource Management Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) Skills & Abilities Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work as part of a team Demonstrated time-management skills and ability to prioritize work in an environment with multiple and competing interests Ability to complete tasks independently Adept learner with an appetite for developing skills and gaining knowledge in a variety of subject areas Detail-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills Familiarity with U.S. agriculture required, dairy industry preferred Familiarity with GHG emissions and sustainability reporting standards (e.g. GHG Protocol, SBTi, CDP, EcoVadis) preferred Familiarity with farm-level GHG footprinting models and tools preferred Travel for industry-related events required (5 to 10%). 7.5 hour work day Hybrid position, 2 remote days per week Retirement contribution with an 11% maximum contribution Generous vacation, sick and personal leave Office closure between Christmas and the New Year Free Parking or Metro Benefits Exceptional health, vision and dental Short-term, long-term, life and disability insurance On-site gym We regret it is not possible to communicate with candidates except those who most closely match our current business needs.
