The Contract Research Analyst will research and track digital assets, develop actionable investment insights, and publish engaging content. They will support the lead advisor in identifying new investments and maintain ongoing coverage of recommended digital asset investments.
Candidates should have experience as a user or investor in decentralized applications and possess excellent communication and writing skills. A passion for long-term investing and some experience with financial statement analysis is also required.
We’re looking for a Contract Research Analyst, Digital Assets to uncover high-potential cryptocurrencies and decentralized applications for long-term investors. You’ll research and track digital assets, develop actionable investment insights, and publish engaging content to help our members navigate this fast-moving space. It is an independent contract position requiring ~30 hours of work per week. While this role is flexible and 100% remote, candidates must be located in the United States for consideration. Our goal is to identify the best digital assets for long-term oriented investors. We do this by researching all kinds of tokens: from the biggest and best-known cryptocurrencies to second- and third-generation smart contract platforms to decentralized applications that may just have launched tokens. Our goal is to separate the signal from the noise, find the ones that really do solve problems and have the potential to create network effects, and invest accordingly. We also want to educate our members about how to use these ecosystems and embrace the power of digital assets. What would you do in this role? As a contract analyst you will support our lead advisor in identifying new investments in the digital asset space to present to members. This will usually consist of purely digital assets such as the ones mentioned above, but could also include companies whose digital asset exposure provides unique growth opportunities. You will contribute to the development of new investment ideas and educational resources by delivering high-quality research and actionable insights. You will also be responsible for maintaining ongoing coverage of recommended digital asset investments, helping our members (investors) understand how tokens we have recommended may be utilized (for example staking), and updating our members on any major events or changes to the investment thesis. You will need a deep curiosity to learn ever more about distributed ledger technologies, what really drives network effects and the increasing utilization of a token, and how different digital assets may be valued. And you will need strong communication skills to share that knowledge with our members in articles, website posts, videos, podcasts, member events, and more. But what does this role actually do? Produces detailed investment research reports, including valuation models and key risk assessments, for each covered digital asset. Supports our lead advisor in identifying, recommending, and providing ongoing coverage of digital assets Publishes member-facing updates when market events materially impact a covered asset’s investment thesis. Through careful and deliberate analysis, selects investments that outperform their respective benchmarks over 3- and 5-yr periods Interfaces with our editors, customer success team, operations team, and strategic leads to provide the best possible member experience Writes educational and informational content to empower our members to become more successful investors. Examples include “Why stablecoins are a game changer” or “This is why the world does not need another general purpose Layer 1 blockchain.” Constantly learns through a combination of access to our lead advisor and self-directed educational materials like industry research, conferences, discussions with sponsors or other investors, and more. Interacts directly with members to answer questions about developing investing and token usage skills, or individual investments you have identified and cover regularly What do you need to apply? Endless curiosity and open mindedness (you may have a harder time getting through to us as a Bitcoin-maximalist) Experience as a user or investor in decentralized applications. Do you regularly use your wallets and know all ins and outs of self-custody? Awesome.
