Position Overview: Full-time, contract (July 2026) Location: Barrie, ON | Tampa, FL | Seattle, WA | Remote available This position may be based in-office or remote, with travel required. Applicants must have valid working rights in Canada and/or the United States. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Operations Project Manager to support the planning and delivery of operational requirements for the FIFA World Cup 2026. Working under the guidance of the Project Director, Operations, this role helps coordinate day‑to‑day operational workflows, track deliverables, support production planning, and ensure smooth execution across multiple project streams. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in structured project environments, enjoys problem-solving, and is eager to grow within a major global event program. This includes assisting planning and management of dressing & signage production, labour, equipment, warehousing, logistics & distribution, procurement, budget, quality control, sustainability and project workflows. Role Responsibilities: Strategic Planning, Scope & Delivery • Assist project stream leads in gathering and documenting scope requirements, including materials, quantities, timelines, and technical considerations. • Take scope requirements, work through any gaps and unknowns and help coordinate with internal workflows and external workflows • Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and supply chain teams to ensure timely information flow and accurate tracking of orders and deliveries • Support the creation and maintenance of production milestone trackers, deadline schedules, and workflow documentation • Contingency planning across various operational needs • Assist in preparing work plans, schedules, estimates, and resource plans. • Manage project specific operational requirements, including but not limited to accreditation, access management, catering, waste management etc. • Support change control processes by documenting requests, impacts, and approvals. • Help prepare operational inputs for budget submissions and cost tracking. • Work closely with internal departments to ensure level of service maintained to deliver project successfully Operational Coordination • Support day‑to‑day operational requirements such as accreditation, access management, catering coordination, waste management, and other venue‑specific needs. • Track and update project timelines, deliverables, and dependencies. • Coordinate with internal departments (production, creative, logistics, installation) to ensure alignment and readiness. • Assist with contingency planning by maintaining scenario plans and readiness checklists. Governance • Assist in the development and implementation of health and safety protocols & documentation • Support risk and issue management by updating logs, documenting mitigation actions, and escalating concerns to the Project Director. • Identify opportunities or improvements both internally and externally • Assist with quality assurance checks on scope, installation readiness, and delivery accuracy. • Prepare regular reporting updates (daily/weekly progress, risks, issues, budget notes, close‑out documentation). • Ensure clear, timely and appropriate generation, collection, distribution, storage, retrieval, and ultimate disposition of project information. • Assist to maintain project budget, including tracking actuals to forecast and any reporting required • Detailed and organized document management and storage • Support the development and refinement of internal workflows, templates, and best practices. Client & Stakeholder Management • Support the Project Director in communication with clients, partners, and stakeholders. Travel to site and to meet with clients and other stakeholders if required • Identify, resolve and communicate changes, impacts, risks & issues to partners, client and other stakeholders. • Ensures project is being delivered to client expectations • Ensure all communications are professional, timely, and aligned with project expectations. Qualifications & Experience • Proven experience managing large‑scale event operations, preferably in sports, major events, or complex multi‑venue programs. • Proven Experience in supply chain management, warehousing & distribution, print production, hardware fabrication and/or installation • Experience and knowledge in health & safety regulations • Strong operations management skills, with experience in scheduling, reporting, and cross‑functional coordination. • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder‑management skills. • Experience with risk, issue, and change management processes. • Familiarity with FIFA, Olympic, or other global event standards is an asset. • Experienced with MS Office, Google Suite and/ or equivalent Project Management software • Ability to travel as required. Additional hours are considered part of the role’s operational responsibilities and are not subject to overtime compensation. • On‑site presence required throughout installation, event time, and de‑rig • Fixed‑term role aligned to the tournament delivery schedule • Requires resilience, adaptability, and a strong commitment to operational excellence • Must have full working rights within Canada or the USA.
