Mission The Liv Project is dedicated to empowering fearless conversations around youth mental health and suicide prevention. Through creative, innovative programming, we equip young people, caregivers, educators, and communities with tools to open up, connect, and break through the silence surrounding mental health struggles. Our mission is rooted in compassion, creativity, and the belief that open dialogue can save lives. Position Overview The Communications and Development Coordinator is a key member of our team, responsible for marketing and communications initiatives that elevate our organization’s visibility and strengthen our brand, while also driving development efforts. This role integrates strategic communications, marketing, development, grant support, and donor stewardship to ensure strong and sustainable revenue growth. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, creative, and passionate about supporting impactful nonprofit work. Key Responsibilities Marketing & Communications Social Media • Review and enhance social media content, ensuring consistent messaging and engagement around events, programs, and organizational updates. Website & Digital Presence • Coordinate with the Executive Director and website development partner to implement necessary updates. • Submit film updates, festival announcements, and new content to the web developer in a timely manner. • Liaise with the website host to maintain accurate and up-to-date online information. Newsletters • Oversee the planning and development of monthly newsletters in collaboration with the Creative Director and Executive Director. • Ensure content is aligned with the organization’s brand, mission, and strategic goals. Key Responsibilities Development Grants • Research and identify grant opportunities that align with organizational priorities. • Write grant requests. • Ensure compliance with grant reporting requirements. • Send thank-you cards to grantors and acknowledge grants on social media when appropriate. Revenue Generation • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of prospective funders, providing accurate revenue forecasting. • Develop and maintain relationships with foundations, corporations, community partners, and individual donors. • Identify and secure new funding opportunities to support our programs and strengthen financial reserves by developing diverse revenue streams—such as campaigns, events, grants, and corporate sponsorships. • Assist with fundraising events. Donation Acknowledgment & Tracking • Track and manage all donations using the organization’s CRM system. • Draft and mail personal thank-you notes when needed and update donation records accordingly. • Collaborate with the team and external designers to draft and customize fundraising letters. • Secure Executive Director approval, finalize layouts, print, address, and mail donor communications. Operations • Assist the Executive Director with administrative work as needed Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in communications/marketing preferred, business or non-profit development preferred. • Strong writing and communication skills, including grant writing or donor communications experience. • Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders. • Strong experience with social media management and basic content creation. • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively. • Comfortable working remotely. • Passion for mental health advocacy and youth-focused programming is a plus.
