We are looking for someone who genuinely loves working with infants, understands the importance of early nurturing, and is eager to support the lead teacher in creating a warm, developmentally appropriate classroom environment. Position: Assistant Infant Teacher Schedule: Full-Time Location: The Learning Experience Astoria About the Role As an Assistant Infant Teacher, you will work closely with the Lead Infant Teacher to support the daily care, routines, and learning experiences of our infants. The ideal candidate is someone who brings patience, enthusiasm, and a strong work ethic to the classroom, along with prior experience working with very young children. What Were Looking For • Someone with experience working with infants in a childcare center or similar setting • A team player who communicates well with colleagues and families • An individual who is dependable, organized, and able to follow classroom routines consistently • Someone who truly enjoys caring for infants and understands the importance of responsive caregiving • A positive role model who contributes to a safe, calm, and supportive environment Qualifications • Prior experience in early childhood education is required • High school diploma required • Must meet New York State requirements for working in early childhood programs Responsibilities • Support the Lead Infant Teacher with daily routines such as feeding, diapering, napping, and comforting infants • Assist in creating and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized classroom • Help implement simple, age-appropriate activities that support developmental growth • Observe and communicate infants needs to the Lead Teacher and families • Maintain positive, caring interactions with each child throughout the day • Work collaboratively with staff to uphold The Learning Experiences standards of care and professionalism If you are passionate about working with infants and eager to grow in the early childhood field, we would love to meet you.
