Making Food Enjoyable Again Through Science Building the Legal Foundation for a High-Growth Consumer Health Company Kiwi Biosciences is a science-driven consumer health company behind FODZYME®, a targeted enzyme solution designed to help people better tolerate hard-to-digest foods. Backed by peer-reviewed research and Y Combinator, Kiwi is scaling from seed-stage biotech into a fast-growing global consumer brand. Kiwi is hiring a Vice President of Legal as its first legal leader and strategic partner to the founders. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role owns the full legal function—regulatory, product, advertising, commercial contracts, IP, employment, corporate, and disputes—while helping the company scale responsibly and move quickly. This is a hands-on, business-first role for a legal operator who can balance risk with velocity. You’ll build practical frameworks for compliance and decision-making, lead FDA and FTC-related marketing and product guidance, negotiate key commercial and partnership agreements, oversee IP strategy, and support people operations. You’ll also establish lightweight legal processes and explore responsible use of AI to improve contracting, reviews, and internal enablement. The ideal candidate brings 8–10 years of relevant experience across consumer products, DTC/e-commerce, health or wellness, supplements, biotech, or similarly regulated environments.
