Job Details Job Location: 60801 Detroit MI Parking - Detroit, MI 48209 Position Type: Safety Travel Percentage: More than 50% Job Shift: 8hr Job Category: M2 Position Summary This position is responsible for administering training programs targeted at driver and mechanic safety procedures and accident/incident protection and prevention. Essential Functions Monitor and train driver trainers who conduct training of new drivers Travel to terminals to conduct safety training meetings Travel to site of vehicular, passenger and employee accidents/incidents to assist with investigation and determination of cause and preventability Represent Company regarding safety, security and insurance legal matters Observe employees engaged in their daily work activities, identify areas of concern and determine appropriate action to correct behavior Conduct random safety and security audits of assigned facilities Ensure compliance and provide guidance with Department of Transportation (DOT) and Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) requirements and regulations Serve as local company contact for the DOT and OSHA Qualifications Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent required Associate degree or some post-secondary education preferred Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word and Excel 2 years transportation industry experience 50-80% travel Note: The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
