This individual will not just be a strategist, but a practitioner who understands the granular mechanics of how a state agency operates, from frontline case processing to federal oversight. Required Experience & Skills • Direct experience within a state SNAP program, including eligibility operations and compliance. • Senior-level or leadership responsibility in SNAP, eligibility, or public assistance programs. • Strong working knowledge of federal and state SNAP regulations and their practical application. • Experience supporting or responding to SNAP Quality Control reviews and audits, including error rate analysis and corrective action planning • Familiarity with USDA/FNS and state oversight expectations. Core Capabilities • Eligibility determination, verification, and case processing • Identification of common eligibility and documentation errors • Audit preparation, response, and compliance support • Development of corrective actions that are practical and defensible • Translation of regulatory requirements into clear operational guidance • Effective communication with executives, managers, frontline staff, and external stakeholders • Translate audit findings into practical training for frontline eligibility staff to reduce recurring errors.
