Project Manager – Automation Equipment Rochester, MI This company, an innovative developer of automated food and beverage equipment, is looking for a Project Manager to join their growing team. In this position, you’ll own projects through the full development cycle, from kickoff to installation. This includes responsibilities over schedules, materials, vendors, and customer communication. Company Information This business grew out from a family of established companies in the automated manufacturing field, focused on cutting-edge technology for processing. Their solutions drive down costs, and they’ve already garnered a sterling reputation in the industry. Position Description In this role, you’ll be the key driver of new product development and support activities. As this is a smaller team, you’ll own multiple manufacturing and equipment build projects simultaneously. This includes driving project schedules, enforcing deadlines, and coordination of engineering, purchasing, and production resources. Other responsibilities include: • Track parts, materials, and fabrication progress daily • Manage vendors, lead times, and subcontractors • Run project kickoff meetings and weekly execution reviews • Identify production bottlenecks and remove obstacles • Control scope, cost, and schedule changes • Maintain accurate project cost and margin tracking • Communicate directly with customers on milestones and delivery • Support equipment testing, delivery, and installation as required Qualifications • 8+ years of experience with manufacturing or industrial equipment projects in shops with a smaller headcount (20-50) • 3+ years of project management experience • Experience with teams in equipment fabrication, welding, and assembly • You must have a good mechanical aptitude, with an ability to turn a wrench if needed • Exposure to areas such as quality, OpEx, and working directly with vendors • Background with ERP, MRP, and Excel Compensation: $100-120K/year base salary, with bonus This is a direct-hire position, with a full benefit package.
